Monthly Bitcoin meetup.

Some exciting  news. Shawn has setup bitpay for the restaurant. This will be the first test run, so make sure to bring some coins and show your support. If all goes well they could be the first to accept bitcoins in Denver.

Also we have the private room this time.

There will be a more structured meeting this week.

6-6:30 arival and drinks

6:30-6:45 short presentation (Ben Ullrich)

6:45-7 questions and opinions

7-8 open conversation

PS. I would like a couple other people to also become admins of this group so we can really begin to grow bitcoin usage in Denver.

West side of Market and 17th has parking that southern hospitality will validate. Only 4$.

The meet up today was excellent, even though I've been working with bit coins for about 6-8 months, I learned a lot and got to meet good people.

Ben, why don't you message over to Jordan and the admins at other pages and see if they'll delete their pages in exchange to be admins on this one, or vice-versa? This would help with some of the issues we've been having with multiple meetups scheduled. If you want me to do it, just send me a quick message. I think it would be beneficial to everyone if we could keep it to one source where meetings can be scheduled all over the state.

    Like if you agree? Thanks!

I totally agree. No reason to pay this many fee's. I only started this one because at the time nothing was happening.

I was talking to a friend and he suggested Galvanize downtown as a quieter location(also someone suggested it for the first meetup). They have a bar and seems like plenty of space. The people I talked to there said it is more like a work space or a lounge. Has anyone been there and can speak to weather it will be quiet enough for use on a Tuesday night? I am going to check it out when I get downtown next. PS. All of the library's downtown seem to have classes starting at 6 that use the meeting rooms.

I have not been there. If it falls through I have a private room at my work that is not connected to the rest of the bar. Seats 14 around 1 table and then there are a bunch of chairs and couches. The music can be turned completely off so it can be as quiet as needed. I know last time did not work do to the noise, but this could be a solution as long as we don't have more that say 25 people it could be very comfortable. Just an idea.

Has anyone thought about getting a group of people together to invest in/startup a Bitcoin ATM somewhere downtown or in Union Station? I'd love to talk to some people if they'd be interested in investing or helping to set something up. I know we have a diverse group of people, some of whom may be able to invest, others promote, others help establish connections. I myself work in accounting and would be interested in investing in it and/or running it.

Has anyone thought about it or done any research?

It would likely be regulated as an MSB (money service business) and need to comply with AML (anti money laundering) rules and regulations. ...both of which are good to understand as crypto currencies mature but absolutely shouldn't be considered barriers to bitcoin or that business. Those ATMs would

Those ATMs would be also be good at businesses that accept bitcoin (maybe even right next to the cash one).
