Knew I was a creative writer at an early age, but never pushed it. Then over the years, in the world of work, discovered that I had become a technical writer (which I enjoy doing very much). Now, realizing, in my second century of life on this planet, I want to become a published creative fiction writer. So, I am looking for encouraging ways that will help me to realize that ambition.
Not sure what goes in hear, perhaps my "Who are you?" best answers this.
My most recent efforts you will find, are my technical writing and materials work part of the State's emergency operations plan. The volunteer coordination system (VCS) which I developed and produced by creating the original VCS, and the over 1600 pages of technical materials I compiled and devised in support of the State's medical, and healthcare coalition emergency response capability development work. On the creative side, other than an episode of Star Trek Next Generation based off of material Paramount Studios stole from my writing partner and myself -- we ignorantly submitted an unsolicited script. The lawyer agreed after viewing the episode with our stolen material, that we had a case - but that we did not have enough money to pursue. We were informed that Paramount (at that time) was successfully outspending and exhausting the resources of those who had had similar experiences and tried to bring suit against them.
Technical writer wanting to get creative side running again. Have successfully NOT completed 6 NaNoWriMo's, figured time to change. After all, doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome = insanity. So, now to try something different.
