Colorado Crowdfunding Meetup - Investment-Based Crowdfunding Has Arrived!

The SEC has finally released the first type of investment-based crowdfunding (i.e., accredited investor crowdfunding) from the constraints it previously operated under.

Accordingly, we're going to begin our study of the investment-based model of crowdfunding at our meeting on the 23rd.  At that meeting we’ll have a guest speaker, Kieran Mccarthy, from Colorado Startup Lawyer, who will share with us the pro’s and con’s of the new“noisey” accredited investor crowfunding model.  It's sure to be a topic of considerable interest for those of you dreaming of starting a business and looking for the funding to do so.

I apologize for bailing at the last minute, but my father-in-law is in the hospital so I will be unable to attend the meeting. :(

    David:

A great place to start would be to check out our affiliate group, The Inventors' Roundtable.

There are opportunities there to potentially license your patent to a concern that could actually take all of the headaches off your hands and just provide you with royalty check.

That's assuming, of course, that your patent is on an invention or business process that could have a potentially significant market share and that you're at the point where you'd rather not run the business to make the product or sell the process but would rather have someone else do the work for you.

Other than that, you could learn more about crowdfunding. At our October meeting (on the 23rd) we're going to take up accredited investor investment-based crowdfunding which was just legalized this past Monday, September 23rd.

Hi RP, I am new to Crowfunding, I did attend a matching Entrepreneur event years back where Investors wore a certain color ribbon and you could approach them. I have a patent on a building product, and it only attracts a certain kind of investor . Any ideas for me?

    Thanks -[masked]
