With the new year, comes exciting new changes at Colorado Crowdfunding.
For the past year and a half, we have concentrated on educating our members about crowdfunding in general and cause, rewards and pre-sale based crowdfunding in particular. With the start of new year, and going forward from this point on, we have decided to divide Colorado Crowdfunding into two distinct parts, each of which will have its own monthly meeting. Those two parts will be "Cause, Rewards and Pre-Sales Based Crowdfunding", on the one hand, and "Investment-Based Crowdfunding" on the other.
The "Cause, Rewards and Pre-Sales Based Crowdfunding" section of Colorado Crowdfunding will meet once a month, currently on the second Thursday of each month, at Brooklyn's Restaurant near Sports Authority Field (i.e., Bronco's Stadium). The "Investment-Based Crowdfunding" section of Colorado Crowdfunding will meet, as we have in the past, on the fourth Wednesday of each month, again at Brooklyn's Restaurant at Sports Authority Field.
The meetings for the "Cause, Rewards and Pre-Sales Based Crowdfunding section (which from now on we'll call the "CRP-S Crowdfunding" for ease of reference) will be run and moderated by our new moderator, Danielle Menditch, who is a partner at Grit Girls Consulting (http://www.gritgirlsconsulting.com/) and is both a social media and brand development expert. Danielle will be ably supported in this new role by Rita Crompton of The Inventors' Roundtable.
For the time being, the CRP-S Crowdfunding meetings will consist of three parts: from 5:00 to 5:30 there will be general crowdfunding educational efforts (supported by a new resource library to be created over the next several weeks); from 5:30 to 6:00 the group, as a group, will work on specific proposed or then pending crowdfunding campaigns generally, i.e., feedback from members and suggestions for modification / enhancements to proposed and ongoing campaigns, etc.; then from 6:00 to 8:00 (or whenever), the CRP-S Crowdfunding group will relocate to a second room at Brooklyn's where whoever wants to stay can help work on specific pending or proposed campaigns intensively, as determined by the session moderator.
As I have over the past three sessions, I will continue to run the "Investment-Based Crowdfunding" meetings where we will first educate, and then help, members to launch successful investment-based crowdfunding campaigns. These services will be available only for the members who attend those meetings.
The emphasis in the New Year and going forward will be less on just educating and more on actually bringing successful campaigns to fruition. What we've discovered over the past year and a half, is that while you can educate people about crowdfunding until the proverbial "cows come home", just educating them doesn't ensure that they'll be successful. And, the good news is that from the mistakes that some of our members have made with their own campaigns over the past year and half (as well as from some of the successes that other of our members have had with their own campaigns), we've divined some important, essential truths that we'll be able to share with both old members and new ones alike to greatly enhance their chances for succeeding with their own campaigns in the future.
Looking forward to seeing you all at our New Year "kick-off" meeting on Thursday, January 9th.
Best regards and happy holidays to all ...
