Kickstarter and Perks-Based Crowdfunding - How to Make a Viral Video

How to Make an Awesome Crowdfunding Video: Part II

When you think of an awesome crowdfunding video, what attributes make you want to donate to the campaign? Is it the story, the emotional connection to the campaign, the rewards?

During our last crowdfunding meeting, there was so much awesome information and discussion, we didn't have time to finish the agenda! Come join us for part two of "How to Make and Awesome Crowdfunding Video".

If you missed the last event, don't worry. This session will focus on storytelling, identify the emotional connection of your video, and we'll even make a short video on our phones or camcorders.

Please bring your phone or camcorder and a set of earphones. Be prepared to write, sit in front of the camera and/or give positive feedback.

If you have any questions, please e-mail Danielle: [masked].

More focus should have been put on the subject, analyzing more videos and talking hard facts. Ie. Funny is xx% more likely to be shared.

It's a darn tough subject to "teach" in only one or two sessions. I've been looking into this hard too, and found a lot of really interesting---and contradictory--info out there. It's so subjective to your goal too---what works for a product won't work for a movie, and vice-versa.....

Michael, the contradictory nature of the articles out there is precisely the reason why Colorado Crowdfunding (and now Kickstarter and Perks-Based Crowdfunding) was started .... to separate the truth from the fantasy overtime .... persistence by CC in its mission is the only way to ultimately arrive at the truths that will benefit our members ...

Danielle did a sensational job of keeping the meeting on track and communicating the essence of what needed to be communicated -- the audience was lively and engaged ... in terms of focus and engagement, one of the best crowdfunding meetings I've attended to date .... Keep up the good work Danielle and thanks to everyone at the meeting for making it such an engaging meeting .... fun and the imparting of wisdom, together, what a concept!

Danielle gave a great presentation. Learned a lot, especially about what makes a video viral. It's all about sharing your personal story and getting people to connect with you. Also enjoyed the exercises and the discussions.

Hey, what's the month's topic? One thing I'd really love to chat about is tactics using social media to prepare/cultivate your audience for your kickstarter/indie-go-go event. I'm particularly interested in discussions of how to use Facebook groups, and how to translate "likes" into participation. I want to know things like best practices for sequencing, timelines---as well as what is a waste of time--and the list of "oh boy---Do NOT do that!" ;) I've been following a host of KS's like the one I am prepping, and seeing a lot of silly mistakes, and then seeing great moves from others. I'd love to see some discussion on here about some of this? ;)

Hi Michael, I just posted the event description above. I think your suggestion sounds excellent for May.

I have similar needs and cannot make the May event. Have a big event of my own in Vegas to manage. Will hopefully be at this event, though.
