Why, in particular, are your interested in crowdfunding?

I am considering the formation of a nonprofit spinoff company that would support the development of open source GIS, mobile, monitoring and evaluation software. I am interested to know if crowdfunding would be a viable way to fund the nonprofit entity.

Are you looking for money or for an investment, or are you just curious?

I will certainly be looking for money should my company create the nonprofit spinoff company.

How familiar are you with the subject of crowdfunding in general? Have you been the beneficiary of a crowdfunding effort in the past?

I am new to the subject of crowdfunding and would like to learn more.

Introduction

I am Nathan McEachen, CEO and founder of TerraFrame, Inc., a developer of GIS, location intelligence, decision support, and mobile software that are optimized for low-bandwidth conditions.
