Let's get together to discuss a great book over coffee or a Sunday morning drink of your choice! The Hornet has $3 Mimosas and a $2 Bloody Mary bar. We'll discuss the book for an hour or so, and then have a yummy brunch. Bonus: There are gluten-free and vegetarian options available. (And we'll have separate checks.)
Being an introvert group, it seems like the no-brainer choice for the first book should be, Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking. (Click on the title for the Amazon description.)
It's available in paperback and you should be able to find a used copy online or in Denver's great book stores. The Denver Public Library also has many copies (although they seem to have a waiting list), as well as e-copies for your e-reader.
Depending on the number of participants, we may break into two or three groups. I'll bring questions to lead the discussion, but bear in mind you won't have to talk much if you won't want to! As introverts, we will respect all levels of participation.
If you end up not reading the whole book, you should still attend. Heck, even if you haven't read more than the jacket cover but want the Cliffs Notes so you don't have to read it yourself, you can come to the meetup and absorb the wisdom of your fellow members.
The Hornet is just north of I-25 at Broadway/Lincoln. It's located at the southeast corner of 1st Ave. and Broadway. (If you know where Punch Bowl Social is, it's across the street from that.)
The Hornet has a small parking lot behind the restaurant, off 1st Ave. Otherwise, parking is on the street and is free all day on Sundays. (I confirmed this with the restaurant since the meters may not make this clear.) I've had good luck getting a spot right on Broadway, but I would build in some extra time as you might have to drive around just a bit.
We'll be in the private area off the main dining room and the host will point you in the right direction.
See you there!
