grew up here in CO, left for many years, now back, and looking for friends and fun things to do. Many times I want to go somewhere with people but not have to be chatty the whole time, so this is great
Not all introverts are overly shy people that don't leave their house. As with anything there are many types of people all along the Introvert-Extrovert spectrum. And just because you're an introvert, it doesn't mean that you still don't like to get out and socialize. I mean, hey, here's a whole GROUP of introverts right HERE that likes to socialize! We don't mind going to a Happy Hour or karaoke. We just prefer not to do it at places with music so loud you can't hear the person next to you, where there's no elbow room or space, or where people are loud, rude and obnoxious (silly us, huh? :) And, of course, we also have many meetups geared for "quieter" activities, like museums, yoga, discussion groups and day hikes too.
So join our group, and come join the fun!
There are many people that are introverted by nature, but don't mind getting out, socializing, and interacting in the right environments. Non-crowded, quieter, low-key environments. This group will attemptto facilitate many opportunities for introverts to gather with other introverts in comfortable, low-stress environments to interact, to be social, to make new friends, and to catch up with old friends.
As stated, all meetups will be easy-going, casual and low stress by nature. Frankly, if I have to worry about how I DRESS for a get-together, it ain't low-stress enough for me. ;) (Unless of course it's a concert or such that requires dressing up. Then I can do that. I even have photographic evidence of me in a Tux :)
Also, though it is a "social" group, it will always be acceptable to be...well, introverted here. If you want to sit quietly, or go off alone or in a small group at an event, or you get to "I've had enough, and it's time to go", that will NEVER be considered "anti-social" or rude in this group. And, I hope that goes for me as well. Because when we do something like a museum, then organizer or not, I'm also liable to say, "okay group....I'm gonna go off and explore alone. Let's break up, and meet back here in an hour!" ;) And I hope and expect fellow introverts would understand that solitude is a wonderful way to make connections to certain things like art and music. :)
