Aug. 4-9, 2014 are verified for the SPECIAL workshop in Denver.
As it is planned now, the 6 day workshop will be like going to an intensive workshop in N.Y. The focus will be intensive teaching on:
Painting of flesh and the different material of garments, and their various highlights. There are ways to enhance the flesh that will be focused on. The same goes for the highlights and types of cloth depicted, ie, cotten/linen, silk, wool, animal hide. W/more detailed demos and explanation on each aspect, there should be a fuller understanding of what and why things are being done on the image that we don't have time for in a regular workshop. My knowledge of garments and their HL was greatly propelled forward when I was able to attend an intensive workshop in N.Y. 8 years ago. From what I experienced, IMO, skill levels will all be able to benefit - from beginner thru advanced, w/o traveling to N.Y. twice.
When Tatiana and her DH, Dmitri and I spoke of this kind of workshop format, it was an exciting prospect and was well received by the attendees who were in this past summer's workshop. I ask you, out of charity - Please spread the word to those you know who may be interested in this unique experience. This is a great opportunity for iconographers to hone their skills in application and understanding that is not usually afforded in our regular 6 day experience.
After Jan. 1, the first half of the tuition ($475) will be due April 15, 2014. $100 of the first half will be will be non-refundable, so air fare and accommodations can be purchased earlier to secure a better price. The full tuition must be P.I.F. by July 31, 2014. As usual, I accept cash, checks, and paypal. Thank you for your consideration and for forwarding this information.
