Colorado River Uke Group March Meetup

  • Mar 6, 2010 · 12:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

We meet the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. Everyone gets to choose 2 or more of their favorite tunes/songs to add to the group repertoire. Each piece is arranged using Finale, a very powerful music software program. Parts are distributed at rehearsals and everyone gets to try out their new part. Each member stores new parts in their personal 3-ring binder. These binders store the music we rehearse and perform.
We discuss performances and our stage presence technique. We learn about; how to maintain our instruments, new accessories, sound equipment, etc..
Our main focus is the musical side of the ukulele as a unique, viable instrument. Our challenge is to present the uke to audiences as a disversified and capable instrument.

We meet the 1st & 3rd Saturdays of each month. This meetup was devoted to learning two new tunes for our repertoire & also to polish previous new tunes added recently. We discussed new performances coming up this month & next. No one wanted to leave, so we all stayed overtime. It was great fun and we tackled a mound of hard work on our arrangements! We meet again March 20th.

    Hi There Pluckers & Strummers:
The February 20th uke rehearsal was great fun. We reviewed two new selections arranged for the group from the last meetup on Feb. 6th. Then we rehearsed two new tunes this week that were selected by members. Tracy Hughes invited Doug Gelpin to join our group. Doug is in a band & plays piano. Other new members today are Linda Dunn and Becky Williamson. Becky is a previous member and it's just great to have her back again, since she plays soprano uke very well. SR
