Shaun was responsible for managing all &Beyond’s trade relations on the East Coast of the US as his incredible product knowledge and passion for &Beyond Africa and India ensured guests were equipped with everything they need to create life-changing safaris for their clients and to streamline operations as best possible.
After obtaining a BLC Law Degree from the University of Pretoria, Shaun realized that his future lay in the hospitality industry. He proceeded to complete a B Com Honours Degree in Hotel and Tourism Management at the same University and began his career at the Villa Via Hotels in 1995. He joined &Beyond (then known as Conservation Corporation Africa) in 2000 as General Manager for Bongani Mountain Lodge and in 2004 managed the opening of Madikwe Safari Lodge in 2004.
Shaun quickly moved up the ranks and was promoted to Regional Manager for Tanzania and General Manager for &Beyond Serengeti Under Canvas in 2008. During this time, he received numerous awards, including winning the Best Business Unit for the Year (across all 46 lodges and camps in &Beyond’s portfolio) in 2001 and 2008.
After ten exciting years of managing various luxurious safari lodges in &Beyond’s portfolio, and with 2 years spent as Regional Operations Manager living in Tanzania, Shaun Strydom returned to South Africa to join the dynamic sales team in March 2010 as the US Sales Manager – East Coast.
In 2011 Shaun was made responsible for looking after all the trade partner relationships in all of North, Central and South America. He eats, sleeps and breathes Africa.
