Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado has an upcoming project in Cheyenne Mountain Sate Park over the weekend of September 14-15 and we are looking to get a few more volunteers to sign up. We would love the help spreading the word to the Colorado Springs Adventures! Below is a bit more information about the project:
VOLUNTEER PROJECT - WHAT & WHY
With the influx of visitors to Cheyenne Mountain State Park it's important to minimize disturbances to the park's ecology. We'll be constructing a new trail that will allow visitors to access some of the most spectacular places in the park, while preserving habitat. This trail will connect the existing trail network within the park to the recently acquired parkland on the summit of Cheyenne Mountain, requiring over 2,000 feet in elevation gain. The project site is located on the far western edge of Cheyenne Mountain State Park, on the southern face of Cheyenne Mountain. Despite proximity to Colorado Springs, this project will be a remote experience. Access to the work site will require a 2.6 mile hike.
Join Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado Sep. 14-15th at Cheyenne Mountain State Park near Colorado Springs. Volunteers will be constructing a new trail that will expand access to some of the most spectacular places in the park. Learn more and register at
or call[masked]-1010. Free to participate; no experience necessary; minimum age: 16. Meals and camping provided.
Thank you for your help spreading the word and we hope to see some of the Colorado Springs Adventures on the project!
