Lend a helping hand to a local farmer and learn about growing garlic, all in one day! Hobbs Family Farm will harvest their organic garlic during the last week of June and we're going to participate! We'll learn how to properly harvest garlic and have the opportunity to ask questions about our own garlic patches!
We'll provide three hours of farm work alongside the farmers and they'll provide coffee and lunch. Farm work is hard and don't fret if three hours is too long. Just do what you can and enjoy the peaceful scenery the rest of the time.
We'll leave Colorado Springs at 8AM. We'll need to get there early since it gets hot in the afternoon and we want to work during the cooler part of the day. Be sure to bring a water bottle, a hat and sunscreen. And wear sturdy shoes or boots! It's impossible to harvest garlic in sandals ... trust me on that.
