salt + butter co. debut party at Stir!

  • Oct 26, 2013 · 6:00 PM

Do you like cookies?  You know I do!

My favorite creative cookie company, salt + butter co. is debuting several new cookies at Stir, a coffee house on Wasatch in the Bonn Shopping Center.  Stir is not usually open in the evening.  This is a special event.

The cookies will be available at Stir thereafter, but on Saturday night we'll have the option to taste the new flavors.  I ran into Mundi Ross, the baker, at Mountain Mama where she was buying ingredients for an apple-sweet potato-chocolate cookie.  She also let slip that she's making a ginger-carrot cookie, but we'll have to attend to find out about the rest.

The cookies will be free and we'll have a champagne toast (presumably to sophisticated desserts) at the end of the evening.

Come hungry!

Note:  The event officially runs from 6pm - 9pm.  I may be a bit late since I have to wait until sunset to lock up the chickens & leave, but don't let that stop you from going while the sun is still up.

It sure was crowded! I'm sorry if I missed anyone from the group who was there. Stir is a great place for an evening party! They had a band, made coffee & hot cider by the gallon and the cookies were everything I expected. What a fun night!

Great! Some interesting flavor combinations of 6 or 7 different cookies. My favorite was the sweet pepper, honey and chocolate version. Just enough pepper flavor to make it interesting...it might even be successful if there were a little heat behind the pepper. Banana (chips) and rum, more subtle banana flavor from the chip; sweet potato and apple, soft with big chunks of apple; carrot and ginger...that one will be a big hit.

Oh no! I am going to be out of town this weekend.! I love cookies but the chance to travel to Minnesota and see my newest Great Grandson rates just a tad higher. Enjoy one for me.
