!!!Half or Whole Pigs for sale!!!

We raise farm fresh hogs for you. Your hog will get some of the best feed around. If you have never had a farm fresh hog then you really don't know what you're missing. Factory hogs are raised in 4 x 6 pens they never see real dirt floors and are never allowed to lay in the sun. Most of the pork purchased in the stores is from factory hog farms. We raise our pigs in small 1 or 2 acre pastures. Our sows "Mama's" have their litters in birthing pens. These pens are 8' x 16'. Our Mama's are kept with their babies for 8 to 10 weeks. By this time Mama is getting tired of the piglets and has taught the babies to eat on their own. We keep mama and babies separated for another 8 weeks. Once the babies are big enough not to crawl under the fence they are put with the rest of the herd. We typically harvest our hogs when they are 6 to 7 months of age. The typical weight of each hog is between 250 and 300lbs. The typical hanging weight of one of our hogs is 180 to 210lbs of meat "Whole Hog". Our half hogs weigh between 90 and 105lbs of hanging meat. We will deliver your hog to our processor free of charge when it has reached its goal weight.

What we feed.

Our pigs are fed bread from one of our local bakeries. Corn purchased from feed mill. Produce in the spring and summer grown by us and picked up from local venders. We are about to start feeding Barley fodder that we will grow ourselves. We also on occasion get spent barley grains from some of the local breweries.

We only use the Elizabeth meat locker for processing. They are a family owned business and are USD inspected. Please note that all Processing fees are your responsibility.

Paying for your hog.

We have two ways of owning your own hog. Our first plan is the traditional way of buying a hog where as you pay all up front. Your charge for your hog is 200 for a half or 400 for a whole hog. No matter which way you pay you will still have to wait for your harvest date. Unless we have a cancellation then we will offer it to the first cash payer in line.

Payment Program

The second way and most popular way is our payment program. We take your purchase whether it is a half or whole hog and divide it by 6 months. We do ask that you make a down payment of 50 for a half and 100 for a whole. We then take the balance and divide that by six months. Your payments will be invoiced through Paypal as will your down payment. You are always welcome to call and pay your invoice with a credit card or make the drive to Calhan where our farm is and make cash payments. No matter which way you decide to go you will be asked to sign a Hog purchase contract.

Sorry no Checks and no mail payments.

Example of payments

Half hog down payment is 50 dollars with 6 payments of 25.00 dollars a month.
Whole hog down payment is 100 dollars with 6 payments of 50.00 dollars a month.

Please note that these prices do not include processing fees. All processing fees will be due upon pick up of your animal from the processor. The processor will not release the meat until fees are paid.
