Map to Trailhead:

http://binged.it/JPqkoe

Specifics:

Plan on 4-6 hours of mountainbiking.  planning on 20-25 miles and at least 2000ft+ elevation gain.  There are hills to climb but the exact route is flexible depending on who goes.

Sections of easy trail and most of ride is normal mountain singletrack, brief sections of technical, depending on what we ride.  Most likely will head up Shinglemill to start and finish on Sandy Wash.

This ride is weather dependant.  We won't go if soggy!

I will be driving the colorado clipper so there is room for 4 other riders the first four to claim a spot get them $10 per head. I will be leaving the red rocks parking area at 8:30 am sharp!

conditions seem good for the ride 50's there is a possible light shower so maybe a rain shell would be handy. bring enough food and water because we wont be near the trailhead until it's over and we will be out over 4 hours. I can taste the Zoka burgers already (great post ride fuel) just a couple miles from the trailhead

I would like to come, however, this is my first time out with my new bike. I am new to this sport and have heard a lot of great things about Bear Creek. Would this be too much to start out at as my first ride?

    March 26, 2013

  • John V.

With Tim as a ride leader we can split into two groups I will open up the remaining spots for the ride. Tim there will be people in your group that have done that loop. The reason for a second leader is to keep track of their group so no one gets left in the woods.

Hopefully bring my 20 year old son he is a lung

    March 25, 2013

Is there anyone who knows the trails at buffalo creek and would like to lead a second group. The leader should be comfortable leading a ride a keeping track of their riders, no riders left behind!

    • Greg

I love BC, but will not know until the last minute if I can go. If there is still a need and you don't find anyone else, I will try to open that weekend up. Wish I could commit today for you, but work is work.

Are you thinking about taking a shot at Blackjack?

    March 15, 2013

    • John V.

we rode most of it last year but there is an implied age limit on that trail I think I'm past it!

    • Greg

I think you're right on that one, or there should be!

      March 17, 2013

  • John V.

I have updated the number of available spots to 10. If we get an additional ride leader and spilt into two groups we can have more.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
