Ride Eagle's Nest In Vail

I'll be on vacation from 5-9 August. I start at the new Godola near golden peak and ride the service road to mid vail and over to eagles nest. this is about 5 miles of non technical climbing that takes 1.5-2 hours. depending on the weather I then take grand traverse to buffalo's as an out and back. Out it is generally uphill but nice and rolling and coming back a general down hill. Round trip with a break at buffalos it takes me approx 1 hour to do the ten mile trip. Once back at eagle's nest I choose one of the epic down hill single tracks to get back to the bottom. All in all it is about 20 miles of riding and takes about 4-5 hours (the last hour and ten miles is virtually all down hill) We can also have a barb que after the ride for a late lunch back at the condo (The Wren). If you want to make a little bit more of the trip you can get a room around there and do like I do and use the lift the next day which, is $30 for a one day bike haul with unlimited trips (i think it is $20 for military)

My # is 2103659230. Trail conditions are great. Just enough water to make them super tacky. Expect a lot of mud but there is a bike wash at the bottom in lionshead.

No. If he did come I never saw him. But it was a fun challenging 21 miles. The toughest part was the last 6 dowh the mountain. Almost thought I'd have to take the road back down.
