Seeing as it has been like 9 months since I've ridden Falcon Trail and I no longer ride it in the snow I'd better get to this one before summer is over. I don't see any big activities going on at the base this weekend so Saturday is the day! Supposed to be hot so I'm getting an early start.
This is a 13 mile loop, normal mountain singletrack ride, with a few short technical sections. It is challenging aerobically. It should take us about 2 to 3 hours depending on who is going. Come prepared with water/waterpack, tube, pump, helmet, etc.
I may do a second lap CCW so after some reequipping at the car planning to start lap 2
Remember to bring a picture I.D. (drivers license) to get through the Northgate security check station, give some extra time this can be time consuming if lots people are getting in at the same time. You will enter the Air Force Academy through the Northgate only, NOT the southgate off Academy Blvd unless you have a military ID. You need a drivers license for the Northgate entrance and to get to the trailhead.
