Stratton/St. Mary's Falls/Pipeline/666

I am planning to do a big loop of Stratton/High Drive Lot/St. Mary’s Falls/Pipeline/666 which will also be pre-riding the last leg of the ring the peak for those who are training. From downtown the ride will total about 35 miles and 5,400 of elevation gain, approximately 5 ½” hours of riding. I will be riding from America the Beautiful Park at 6:30 for anyone
who would like to join early for the ride over to Stratton. This would be a good opportunity to learn how to connect to Bear Creek/Cheyenne Canyon/Section 16 etc from downtown by trail.

The ride will be a good intermediate pace with few stops to refuel and regroup so please be prepared with everything you will need for a full morning in the saddle. Depending on where riders start from, there are a few different ways the last part of the ride could be finished coming down. Please call if you are running late,[masked]-8147.

That would be great to coordinate both rides Brian. I was thinking of leaving Manitou on Ute Pass fairly early, maybe 7 at the latest. It looks to be about a 2 1/2 - 3 hour ride depending on where we would meet you. Do you start off of Edlowe Rd on the north side? When were you thinking of starting?

I sent you an email, easier to communicate. or text me at[masked] if that is easier for you. I can start our ride from off of Edlowe road at our normal trailhead (Elder Fehn) at 10am. I was going to start at 9am with Tstorms in mind but I think 10 am is okay. we will have a slow group for the loop around catamount. Once we decide on time I will post this ride.

There are a few takers for starting from ATB, would this work for everyone? It would be a quicker direct climb through Stratton to gold camp. If not, we can definitely meet at the Stratton lot at 7 as planned.

By the main entrance with the bollards off of Cimino. I don't think there will be many others there that early

I'm a maybe depending on when I get up and if I have to coach. I'll try to be at the Ridgeway TH at 7am if nothing gets in the way (I'm building a new bike right now that needs some testing). Don't wait on me, though. Are you just going up the dirt road to the Chutes, up the Chutes, to GC, and then up GC to head up St. Mary's Falls? Does everyone know SMF has a big hike-a-bike? One other note; I just hit Pipeline during laps today and its rideable but be prepared for a good wheel grabbing rain rut on a lot of it. Thanks - Kip

Thanks for the update Kip, just let us know you are able to join or not. The St. Mary's portion will be new for me and I was aware of the hike a bike at the falls but thought it would be better than the long cling up gold camp. How bad was pipeline? I rode buckhorn and jacks earlier this week and was pretty rutted in spots but rideable.
