3rd Annual New Years Day Ute Valley MTB ride.

Time to start the New Year off right, with a mountain bike ride. Ride will be about 2 hours in duration.  Be prepared for cold temps and possible snowy/slick conditions, there are some rocky sections of trail.  Meet at the parking lot off Vindicator east side of the park, there is more parking just east on Vindicator at the school.  I do intend to ride unless unreasonably cold (<20 F), excessive wind chill or deep snow (more than 3 inches).

Latest forecasts are changing and indicate we will have our usual snow covered singletrack and mid 20's temps for our first ride of 2013. We will be testing the winter gear again on New Years Day!

Hoping for no ice... First ride with you guys so should I plan for a consistant 2 hours, or breaks in between, or loops, or just fun while trying not to fall down? I want to plan a fuel strategy.

Hey Jake, most likely 5-10 miles max. Def conditions dependant, if snowy, icy conditions we will have fun trying not to fall down. More of a social ride atmosphere on this one so depends a lot on who shows. Based on current rsvp's we will run two groups so no one feels they are slowing everyone down. I'll have one of our guys give a conditions report the day before.
