Fall Grafting Fruit Trees and Small Fruit Propagation

A huge thank you to Buckley's Homestead Supply for hosting all classes that they do. They deserve all of our business and continual support. They truly are a treasure for our community.

Please note: This class has a few openings left! Because Buckley's is hosting this class, and only have limited space, EVERYONE needs to call or stop by their store to register. Their phone number is: 358-8510. Call as soon as possible to avoid disappointment! For those that cannot make it this fall, this class will be offered again in March and April 2014. Cost $35 ; discount for couples.

While most often done in spring, tree grafting and chip budding can also be done in fall on some common fruits. Fall is also an excellent time to propagate grapes and many berries. Come join Don Chilo at Buckley's Homestead Supply on either Saturday: Oct. 19th or 26th from 1-4 pm.
Participants will get to graft their choice of several great tasting apple varieties on a single mini-dwarf tree. These trees will only get around 5 feet tall, will produce full sized fruit, and can be grown in the ground or a pot. In addition, we will learn propagation of several superior varieties of seedless grapes and blackberries. Lastly, we will also learn how to air layer subtropical fruit: pineapple guava and loquat. All participants will receive their own apple tree, grape or blackberry plus a chance to win either the pineapple guava or the loquat that we reproduce. Past classes have been so much fun, with all hands on activities learning new skills. Tuition of $35.00 includes all of the above. Space is limited for best instruction. Register by calling Buckley's Homestead Supply at: 358-8510. I look forward to seeing you- Don Chilo
