Introduction

I manage our small urban farm, Ivywild A & N Farm, in Colorado Springs, CO. We sell CSA shares, eggs, and honey to our neighbors and we are always sold out. There is such a demand for quality, local food.

Please take a moment to comment on your experience level with urban homesteading, and your areas of interest. Thank you!

I have a fair amount of experience. I grew up on a small farm in Oregon and now of course we have our urban farm here in town. I have experience with rabbits, chickens, ducks, honey bees, aquaponics, mini-orchards, mine-vineyards, and vegetable gardening. I teach classes on all of these subjects.

  • Hi Christine! Thank you for hosting this Meetup. I'm delighted to find out about folks who have similar interests, concerns and pursuits. Since I had a freshwater aquarium as a kid, who would have thought that experience would benefit me now as an adult for raising tilapia! I look forward to meeting you & other COS Homesteaders.

  • So great to find your group! We moved to Black Forest this last July, and I'm looking forward to gaining some gardening, canning and preserving and chicken raising skills!

  • Christine, I was thinking about the wording on the advertising. Hope it's not too late. My thought was, if we are planning an annual event maybe we just call it a cook-off and that way we can do other things rather than just chili.
