David... looks like a great trip even if it was alone, it must have been peaceful and what great weather!

David: We found the note you left for use at the trail intersection near McCurdy Park. That was a nice touch, and thanks so much for the info! Glad to hear you had a good time as well. That area is a very extraordinary place.

Jared I saw Ingas photos and noticed that your second day was less hazy than my time there. Looks like you did climb McCurdy Mt as well , That is indeed a special place.!

This meetup ended up as a solo 4 day trip . One person was ill and couldnt make it and the other person had equipment problems and turned back the first day. Fortunately for me , Im perfectly fine alone in the wilderness and had a fantastic time in an amazing place. Overall, I hiked 30 miles and did not see another person in 3 full days. You might say I had a meetup with myself and it was quite rewarding.

David, my bird's eye view of the Lost Creek Wilderness (I live here in Bailey) says that the leaves are about 1/4 to 1/3 turning to gold today. It goes fast so I'm thinking that it's going to be a terrific contrast of the gold against a green back round at the start, then increasing gold during your trip!! Have an excellent time. Wish we could go, but we are signed up for a 3 trip through Monday the 17th :(

Earlier this year the FS advised hikers to avoid the Lake Park Trail due to major blowdown. Lake Park is a special place the third week of September.
