Edible & Medicinal Plant Herb Walk w/ Chris Frederick presented by the Pikes Peak Herb Association

June 15, 2013 · 9:00 AM -11:00 AM

The walk will be held at Bear Creek Nature Center but you need to RSVP and not just show up because we limited the number of attendees.

June 15th, Saturday from 9 to 11 am at the Bear Creek "nature Center" parking lot. Off lower Gold Camp Rd (not the park)

Chris Frederick will be leading us on an informative walk identifying Edible & Medicinal Native Plants. Chris has taught local plant identification classes and over the years has taught instructors at the Survival School at the Air Force Academy, worked with the Boy Scouts of America and led walks for the Park and Rec's Nature Center. Chris was one of the founding members of the Pikes Peak Herb Association and is a wild food enthusiast.
Sharon Schulman is holding 5 places for Colorado Springs Vegan and Vegetarian Meetup members.

The charge is regularly 12 dollars and a can good but Vegetarian Meetup members get it for $10 plus can good to be donated to Silver Key.

This is a great opportunity to learn about eating with nature, and how to only take the right amount, in order to have a plant come back. This is always such a fun event so hope you can attend.

Items to Bring:
water bottle, hat, sunscreen, pen & paper, camera, snack

Please send Sharon Schulman your check for 10 dollars to hold you space as soon as possible. She needs to receive it by June 12, three days prier to our walk.

Just wanted to tell everyone we'll see you on time, 9am at Bear Creek Nature Center. If you didn't get a chance to pay, you can bring it and canned goods before the walk. For those who cancelled, if you feel up to it, just come, we have the space this time, which is unusual... the Bllk Forest Fire has created some cancellations......
See you soon, so join us, Sharon
