Following up a recent discussion on how to help during the fires, I know there are ways you can continue to help after the fires.

At the Lunch Bunch Meetup today someone mentioned that Black Forest Animal Sanctuary posts volunteer needs on their Facebook page regularly, for instance, "We are in need of people with trucks and trailers to move donations from Twisted Trail Ranch in Castle Rock to the sanctuary at 16750 Thompson Rd in Black Forest. We need to move all physical donations, cats, dogs, small animals. Our team will move the horses." Check out their FB page to help: https://www.facebook....

If you know of other volunteer efforts or needs to help humans or animals, please post them here so that any one of us can follow-up on our own to volunteer. And thanks!

Since we all love food so much and sharing food, maybe we can form a group of people who can take turns giving prepared meals to a family who lost their home in the fire. I have friends in Black Forest whose house is fine who would probably find a family for us to "sponsor" so to speak. Please reply if interested!

From member Zena:
"Volunteering at Care and Share's large warehouse can be very rewarding! Make sure you wear tennyshoes or closed toe/heel shoes. You will be sorting food to place in boxes for families in need and firemen putting out fires in Colorado. Visit the Care and Share website to find a day and time you'd like to volunteer. They are located off of Powers. You will need to see expiration dates on food items so don't forget your glasses if you need them."
