Eldritch Horror

Eldritch Horror is a cooperative board game of supernatural investigation and horror based on the works of HP Lovecraft, and is suitable for up to eight players. In each game an Ancient One, a being of indescribable power, will attempt to break through to our dimension and destroy us all. We will take on the role of 20's era pulp investigators that gather artifacts and spells and attempt to solve mysteries relating to the Ancient One.

Experienced gamers may note that this game sounds similar to Arkham Horror, and it some ways it is. However this game was designed to be much more manageable and palatable to the average gamer, and as such, is much more streamlined and easier to play. Gone are the 4-hour plus game times, the dozens of pages of complicated rules, and the seemingly endless stacks of tokens, items, and cards.

Logistical stuff: I will only be able to host a total of 8 folks. Please plan to bring a dish or snack for others to share. I will have stuff on hand but the cost adds up quickly since I host frequently. Also, this is a BYOB event. I will e-mail my phone number and address to all who have RSVP’d a few days before the event, so please be considerate of others and update your info as soon as you think you might not be able to attend.

Hi Graham, welcome to the group! It's not too late, and I've just sent you an e-mail with the details. It should appear in whatever e-mail address you registered with on the site.

New to this group and game (though I am a Mansions of Madness vet) - good enough?

I'm sure that will translate well. We are all pretty new to this game too.

Is this a game that some can learn that evening, or do we need to be familiar prior?

You don't need to be familiar with anything...the game itself is pretty new and I'm sure the other participants will be playing for the first time also.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
