Introduction
I love writing in many different formats and subjects. I'm currently working on a teen novel.
What genre do you write? This is primarily a group for adults writing young adult or children's genres, so will you be able to contribute to this?
So far my best work has just been short stories of various different styles, but my YA novel is going strong.
What length pieces do you write? Short stories, novels, poems, etc?
Novel, short stories. I have some poems but would only submit them if we get an incredible dry spell.
Have you been published? If not, how serious are you about getting published?
I'm going to e-publish without a traditional publisher. So a good deal of my efforts go to preparing for that to work. So far it's much better than preparing for a big publisher to reject me.
Have you ever been part of a critique group before? If so, how was your experience?
Yes, I am currently a member of the writers group that meets at the Barnes and Noble in Ellicott City. That group is for all kinds of writers, and we do an excellent job of supporting each other. Both groups are so great!
Why do you write?
It's fun! And your best ideas are going to be created with lots of work.

WSFA predates Meetup. This is simply an venue to attract more persons like yourself. It is a group of local science fiction / fantasy geeks of all age ranges. The bi-monthly meetings start with a business meeting, then afterwards socialization (we sometimes actually talk about science fiction).
You do not need to be a member of Meetuo or of WSFA to attend. You can join the club after having attended at least three meetings, although not required.

Thanks Grant. I had a great time. I can't believe I waited so long to start coming out to the meetings! I look forward to posting something soon although I must admit to NEVER letting anyone read anything I've written. I feel like this would be a good group to break that habit with, though.
