Fifth Annual Worldwide Photo Walk

Scott Kelby's Fifth Annual Worldwide Photo Walk is set for Saturday, October 13, 2012.

Details of the Photo Walk and the link to join the walk are on the Worldwide Phote Walk page for Columbia below.
http://worldwidephotowalk.com/walk/columbia-sc-united-states-downtown-museum-of-art/

Registration for the Photo Walk must be done on Columbia's page for the Photo Walk. There is a maximum of 50 participants. Saying that you will attend using Meetup does not register you as a participant in the photo walk.

How do I register for the photowalk?
Since the Scott Kelby Media Group is the company sponsoring the Worldwide Photo Walk, registration is done on the web site that they created for the Photo Walk.

  1. Go to http://worldwidephotowalk.com/walk/columbia-sc-united-states-downtown-museum-of-art/
  2. Click on the "Join Walk" button and fill out the information on the form.

Although this meetup is closed tp new RSVPs, that does not mean that no one else can register. The only place to register is through the Photo Walk link provided. If there are openings, then you can register. This meetup page is used as an announcement for the upcoming walk.

I tried to change my RSVP on the website, but my login is not letting me in. Ralph, maybe you can change it for me. I hate that I'm going to have to miss this.

      Tina,
I'm sorry that you won't be able to make it. I will go ahead and remove you from the walk using the leader admin section.

This is my first photo walk too. Can you bring your spouse ?

      Jim,
I would say as long as your spouse also registered on the Worldwide Photo Walk site (not RSVP'ing yes on Meetup), then sure. I listened to Scott Kelby's webcast of the photowalk today and he said 50 was the right size to manage a walk safely; 60 was too big to handle safely. The limit of 50 is not my rule, Scott Kelby set that limit for various reasons.
If unregistered people showed up, that could push the walk into being unmanageable and too big.
The webcast will be published probably tomorrow at http://worldwidephoto...

I've never done a photo walk before. What are they like?

A group will get together and walk around a determined area taking pictures of all the interesting stuff you find along the way. I like the photo walks because it teaches you to look at details instead of the whole scene collectively. Also, its a good way to have fellowship with other photographers that are willing to help answer questions if you have any.

To be a part of the photo walk, register at the 2012 Worldwide Photo Walk page for Columbia:
    http://worldwidephotowalk.com/w...

RSVP'ing for the Meetup does not register the person for the walk. The Photo Walk is not part of the Meetup.

William, there's no fund raiser or fee for the walk. However, lunch expense is up to the individual. I hope to find a place for lunch without laying out money for 50 reservations.

I have signed up and have a few questions. Is this a fund raiser or is there a fee?
