Help support your MeetupChip in
Welcome to CRMB we are a wide range of riders from beginners to experience. We try our best to cater to every level of rider and leave no one behind and I mean no one. All rides will have a detailed description of what type of ride it is, and what level of experience is needed. Trust me when I say I was a beginner also at one time who was intimidated at my first meetup group ride at Sandy Ridge on my hardtail. But I found great leadership at CRMB that made feel comfortable and help me build confidence.
We currently have a couple sponsors so membership is free. We have a "chip in" option if you would like to donate it is totally voluntary. We are one of the busiest mountain bike groups in the NW with the most group rides happening all year around. Our ride leaders are very knowledgeable and experienced. So if mountain biking is your thing then you have come to the right place. Everyone is welcome to ride at their own level no pressure to take chances or be in a hurry this is not a race. I take my position seriously and expect the same from the rest of the ride leaders. You are welcome to become a ride leader and post your own rides. If this interest you email me and we can discuss this. We require a facial photo in your profile for safety so you can recognize other riders when showing up for a ride.
If you commit or RSVP to a ride please show up or cancel. Meetup.com has a great phone app to help you with this please download it, its extremely handy. You must respect all members period! We do not tolerate rude disrespectful people. When you show up to rides please bring the necessary stuff/equipment, water, bike tools and extra tube, master link, tire pump, patch kit, hydration pack, tire irons, wet wipes. proper safety and riding gear, energy snacks, and most of all be 99% ready to ride. Please do not have other plans, weddings birthdays, hot dates, or other agendas and show up to ride. Nothing is more disrespectful then to show up and be in a hurry and create a bad vibe.
Riders always ask me what is considered a beginner? My answer is always the same. Mountain biking takes a lot of energy and a high fitness level is needed. You can always get off your bike walk around the scary tough obstacle or the trail section you don't feel like riding. But if you are out of energy on a 10-15 mile ride it can be dangerous especially when the sun starts going down and you now have to ride back. So with that said know your limits and abilities or ask questions before joining a ride that might be over your head, feel free to email me anytime. The key to having a good ride is coming prepared I to have left my socks and gloves at home.
Most of all have fun!
Your membership with CRMB entitles you to reduce cost bike maintenance I will usually fix any members bike for a Starbucks Venti Americano. I own a large set of bicycle tools including a truing stand, bearing press, brake bleed tools, and know how to use them. From a basic derailleur adjustment to tubeless tire setup, bearing replacement you name it I can do it. I am always willing to show members how to work on their own bikes. I also know how to find the best deals in town on parts and equipment you might need. Need help selling your mountain bike or parts let me know I have the experience and all the ins and outs along with a few tricks up my sleeve when it comes to Craiglist, eBay and other mountain bike forums to help you move your mountain biking stuff.
And finally you also get a wide range of experienced riders to help you learn and become a better rider and ride some of the best trails in the northwest. We are a diverse group and respect all demographics. So come join us and see why CRMB is simple the best mountain bike meetup group.
