Heads Up: Bark to the Park!

  • Finlay Park

Taylor street and Gadson Street, Columbia, SC (map)

  • This year’s Bark to the Park will take place on Saturday, April 5 at Finlay Park; registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the 1 ½ mile walk will kick-off at 10:30 a.m.  Following the walk, Pawmetto Lifeline will host an after-party with an awards ceremony, delicious food, pet contests, K-9’s In Flight and much more!

Bark to the Park is an annual event hosted by Pawmetto Lifeline to raise funds for the 17,000 homeless pets in our community.  Currently, the Midlands euthanasia rate is at 68%.  Lagging dramatically behind Charleston’s rate of 7% and Greenville’s rate of 37%, Pawmetto Lifeline’s mission is to continually work towards creating a no-kill community by  pulling the animals on death row from our local municipal shelters and providing their medical services and basic care.

Online registration for the event can be completed at:  The registration fee for the walk is $30  per participant and includes a T-shirt and gift bag. **All of the proceeds raised from this event will go towards our HEART program, (Help Every Animal Reach Tomorrow) which rescues homeless pets from the Lexington and Richland County/City of Columbia Municipal Shelters.

Will you please join with us in rallying together to promote LIFE for the innocent pets who are occupying our municipal shelters by creating a team for Bark to the Park?

I gave up trying to organize an SC AAL team and joined up with the Black Cat Team (Cher Marple is team leader.) Walking for ANY team is awesome and I'm sure we'll all get to walk together anyway.

    Alex, go to
Team Bruno - U.U. Animal Ministry.
Sorry for the confusion, but another UU member registered first as Team Bruno, and we merged the two teams.
