Forks Over Knives screening with the SC Progressive Network!

Learn more about the incredible health benefits of a whole foods plant-based diet while sampling a few at our screening/pot luck!  It's FREE!
So, have you seen Forks Over Knives yet?  If you haven't, or if you have and would like to see it again with some cool peeps, come on out for a viewing party hosted by our friends with the SC Progressive Network at Conundrum Music Hall!

FON is a wonderful film, chock full of crucial information but also easy and fun to watch.  It's about 90 minutes long.  The doc focuses on health, thus the title Forks Over Knives (knives referring to bypass and other surgeries) though Farm Sanctuary's Gene Baur appears briefly.  You will not be subjected to scenes of factory farm horror- instead you'll see an interview with an MMA fighter who is vegan, extensive evidence of health hazards caused by the meat and dairy in human diets, and watch what happens when the doc's narrator decides to try a whole foods, plant-based diet during the duration of the filming (the results are quite amazing).

Trailers and info here:

There will be good FOOD!  Bring a whole foods, plant based dish if you like- though this is NOT required, and you DO NOT have to bring something in order to eat.  Dishes must be free of added fat/oil and animal ingredients.  Not sure what to make?  Try here: or here:

Please bring a serving utensil for your dish and a place setting for yourself (though we will have a bunch of extras if you forget)

Beer and other beverages will be available for purchase.

Please try to bring a non-veg friend/family member/colleague with you to this showing.  The hope is to inspire people who hadn't yet seen/thought about this information to do their own research and try an animal-free diet.

Oh- you might want to bring a cushion for your chair.

The movie was excellent. Half way through, my 9yr. old daughter said Mom maybe I should bring a lunch to school from now on. My 13 yr. old wanted to stop meat a few months ago. He really enjoyed the movie. It was great meeting new people.

Great food - everybody contributed more than we could have possibly eaten. The movie is, of course, fantastic - and there was definitely a good crowd.

I think I'll bring my usual crowd pleasing black bean salsa/salad and something else that I haven't figured out yet- probably a pumpkin thing.

I'm a maybe on this. We have a lot of family coming into town for Thanksgiving, so depending on what there is to do around the house, and what not, I'll have a better idea if I am free or not to make this closer to the date. Sounds like fun though!
