There was no specific "catalyst" other than a spiritual nudge...last September I just decided that I wasn't going to eat beef or pork anymore and I haven't looked back. Now, I no longer eat poultry and my diet consist of about 10% seafood (and I'm transitioning away from that). I feel so much healthier since I've started living this healthier lifestyle (I also try to avoid processed foods, dairy, GMOs, and other checmically treated/enhanced foods).
I'd definitely love "kid friendly" events, I have a 2 year old that I'm guiding toward this path as well. Any events where there is good whole food and likeminded people is great for me!
