If you add up the different times I've been there, I've lived in Japan for almost 5 years. Rather than formal study, I learned it gradually over time.
At one point, I was strong in kanji, but that is probably my weakest skill right now since I rarely read Japanese these days. Strongest skill?--Probably listening.
I went to Japan to teach English. I didn't speak any Japanese when I went.
Hi! I've taught English and done research in Japan, but I haven't spoken Japanese regularly in years and it's getting quite rusty. I would love to get my skills back up.
