Whether you are a beginner or a world-class athlete, we have a climb for you. Stone Summit has walls extending 25 feet to 60 feet high to challenge both your strength and mind! The bouldering room that will not bore even the most fanatical gym rats.
This is being cross posted with the Atlanta Chapter so there will be a great group!

So that we can all identify each other in the Lowes' parking lot...I drive a green Kia Sportage with a kayak rack on top. It looks pretty goofy, so it's hard to miss.
March 2
Hi folks! Look forward to seeing everyone there Sunday! We have several from the Atlanta chapter so should be a good group. I am a novice climber only and will be happy belaying more than climbing.
March 1
I assume you mean be at the gym at 11. It takes about 1.5 hours to get there so we could meet at 9:15 for a slight buffer. Thoughts?
February 27
Lowes is great. Time? We need to be there at 11 a.m. Sundays are usually pretty busy!
February 25
Lowes it is
February 25
Hi folks! Looks like we have 5 or 6 from Atlanta joining us so should be a nice sized group. Kate has suggested Lowes for the carpool. Please leave a comment if you're planning on meeting her there.
February 25
I don't think I can make this one, so hopefully there are more climbing adventures in the future!
February 25
I believe they do a belay lesson for free. The gym is open from 11 to 6 on Sundays. As far as a meeting place to carpool would somewhere on veterans parkway be convenient? Maybe at a subway or somewhere that folks can grab lunch to go if they want?
February 17
Also, if the 3rd work for everyone I'd be happy to come and just belay for those who would like to top rope.
February 16
I will get this posted for March 3rd. Please let me know by Tuesday if you'd like to change the date. What time would you like to arrive? I will cross post this in Atlanta so you'll get a nice group together I promise.
February 16
No worries, we can top rope to get you guys back into it, maybe we can work on lead testing as you feel comfortable. I am lead certified but do not mind being a belay monkey to help anyone! Let's do this!
February 16
3march sounds good here. I haven't ever done any lead climbing, but I'm game for learning.
February 16
I am not lead certified at that gym, though I am at the gym in Chattanooga. I did lead climb a couple times in Atlanta - just asked for a lead rope and then let me sign it out - no questions asked. Not the safest approach on their part, but I knew what I was doing. It has been a few months since I climbed at all (let alone lead climbed) so I would only be comfortable doing it if someone in the group is a lead climber and would recognize if I had back clipped or Z clipped. Anyways, nobody has said anything about those dates except Chris, so perhaps Dante could post the event for March 3 and we can see what kind of response it gets?
1 · February 16
If there is consensus on the date I will post the event. Kate - if you'll coordinate a date & time, carpool, etc. I would appreciate it. I can also cross post in Macon & Atlanta Chapters.
February 11
I'm only free for Sundays, but the 3rd of March sounds like a plan. Kate are you lead certified at SS?
February 11
I am willing to coordinate it, though i don't think I can post an event since I'm not an organizer can I? For anyone already on this message string...who would be interested in a trip to Stone Summit? If intersted, let me know your top 2 choices among these date options: Feb. 23 or 24 or March 2 or 3rd?
February 11
If we can get a small group together I could cross post with the Atlanta chapter as well. Anyone willing to coordinate a Columbus group trip to Stone Summit?
February 7
There's always the possibility of a warm-up trip to Atlanta's Stone Summit rock climbing gym (there are nice lead routes to practice on) when the weather isn't so nice.
February 6
Let's throw out some dates then! I haven't been on rock since November. I am leading a group in March through the store I manage but would like to go before then!
February 4
I rock climb. I haven't been in a few months, so I'm probably not up to par. I have a rope and gear and have done a little lead climbing.
February 4
I'm not very experienced beyond indoor climbing, but I also have a set of gear with belay , carabiners, 250' rope and a few other items.
February 4
I have personal gear and knowledge, if members have a harness and shoes, I know a great area within 3 hours for day trips and possible overnights. Weather is warming up, let's get out there!
February 4
Kathleen, thanks for dropping a line. Unfortunately I'm about to leave the area for about 8 months. The Tennessee Wall and Fosters' Falls are some good locations if you can find any other people.
November 18
Hey, I used to rock climb. I still have my shoes and everything but ropes. It maybe a little late in the season but I just saw this so I wanted to comment :)
November 7
Hi Brooke! We could cross post this in Atlanta as well. Propose some dates and I'll help you set this up.
