Join us on Sunday, April 27th as we get together to watch the latest adventure of the historical Avenger, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER!  In this installment, new directors (Joe and Anthony Russo of TV’s Community and Arrested Development) are said to breathe new action, humor and life into our hero’s second film!  As a result, early buzz is exceptionally good!  Silas Lesnick describes the film as "a perfect movie!" MovieWeb's Brian Gallagher advises people to, "believe the hype, and prepare for so much more." And PJ Campbell declares: it's "Marvel's best movie to date."  A complete description, trailer and plan can be found fellow:

DESCRIPTION:  Steve Rogers, the super-powered American soldier, struggles to embrace his role in the modern world.  His difficult adjustment becomes even tougher when he is introduced to a new threat from old history: the Soviet agent known as the Winter Soldier.  Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson, and oh my, is that Robert Redford!?

PLAN:  We’ll be seeing the 2:50pm showing of Captain America: The Winter Soldier on Sunday, April 27th at AMC Lennox.  Purchase your ticket for the $7.50 matinee price andmeet INSIDE the main lobby (near the concession stands) between 2:20 and 2:30pm.  Captain America has been the #1 movie in America for an unheard-of three weeks running!  We'll head in early for what should be a great show!  Afterwards, be sure to join us for the dinner at Champp's Americana, located just across the parking lot!  Look forward to seeing  you there!

Great movie! Loved the story, the acting, the action, the intentional non-action in places, the humor, the surprises, and ol' Bob Redford was fantastic! I'm calling this one and Grand Budapest my two favorites so far in the class of 2014! It was good to see everyone and double-good to see almost the whole group come out to Champp's afterwards! Had a great time with you all!

Will I understand this if I haven't seen any of the other ones? Or is this a stand alone movie? Thanks! :)

You need to have seen the first Captain America. Everything else... eh, it'll be fine.

Hi Deb! I'm thinking the same thing as Laura! If you can't see the first one before Sunday, I'd just check out a summary. Plus, I think the movie will usually catch you up in the first couple minutes. In any case, you should be fine. Bare minimum, it'll be a fun movie and fun get-together afterwards! :-) Hope to see you Sunday!
