THE MANHATTAN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL @ GFC !

UPDATE: SHOWTIME & MEETING DETAILS CONFIRMED

SHOWTIME: We’ll be seeing the 4:50 showing of the Manhattan Short Film Festival.

TICKETS:  Advance ticket purchase is not necessary, but you will want to be sure to get there EARLY for this event!  The manager assured me that there should be at least 100 tickets available for the group as long as we are there at least 30 minutes early.  The GFC will be offering our CMG discount for this special event!  Just let them know you are with the Columbus Movie Group and tickets are just $6.50!  Advance ticket purchase for those who want to guarantee a spot will be available on Friday or Saturday, but the GFC cannot offer the discount for advance purchase tickets.

MEETING TIME/LOCATION:  To guarantee a spot be sure to get there EARLY for this one!  Purchase your ticket upon arrival and meet me (Dan) upstairs, near the concession stand between 4:00 and 4:10pm.  Keep an eye out for me or a great big group of folks with nametags.

AFTER THE SHOW: We’ll head right across the walkway to Kildare’s Irish Pub, where we have the entire upstairs section reserved for the group!  Always my favorite part of the event!

PARKING: Convenient parking is available in the garage behind the theater.  Have your ticket validated and parking is just $1 for the first 3 hours!

Any questions, just let me know.  Look forward to seeing you there!

One World * One Week * One Festival

The Manhattan Short Film Festival is the world’s first and best Global Film Festival! Nominations are submitted from all over the globe and the ten best short films are selected! Participants in the event (YOU) will be provided a ballot, view the 10 short films (each under 20 minutes), then vote to pick this year’s winner

Even if you’re not a short film fan or have never attended a film festival, this event is a blast! The ten films are shown back-to-back with a short intermission.  All together, it takes about as long as a regular movie.  The film shorts range from comedy, action, drama, documentary, animation, and everything in between. And it's amazing how much these filmmakers can pack into such a short time!  Previous films have gone on to be Oscar nominees or turned into feature films. The Gateway Film Center will be one of the ONLY venues in the state of Ohio to show this year’s film festival.  You can view a trailer for the film festival here:  http://www.manhattanshort.com/trailer.html

This year, the 10 finalists come from France, Ireland, the UK, Russia, Romania, Norway, The Netherlands, Peru, Spain, and the US.  You can view descriptions of the 10 short film finalists here:  http://www.manhattanshort.com/finalists.html

We’ll plan to see a matinee showing on Sunday, September 30th then get together for food, drinks and conversation at a new venue....Kildare's Irish Pub!  Complete details, including showtime, cost (usually the same as a regular movie), and other info will be announced closer to the date of the event.

Should be a great event and a fun time together! Hope you can join us!

@ Terri: I just added the +1 to your RSVP. Also, it doesn't look like we'll need to purchase advance tickets for this one. I'm confirming last-minute details with the theater and restaurant and should be able to post complete info a little later today.

Update for those on the waiting list (or thinking of adding your name to the waiting list): I'm working with the folks at the Gateway and Kildare's to see if we can expand the RSVP limit for this event! Hopefully, we should be able to update the RSVP limit a little later this week. Stay tuned & thanks for signing up!
