UPDATE: Need a mid-week laugh? Our movie selection for October has you covered (and then some)! For the October edition of the Third Tuesday $1+ Movie we'll be seeing the absolutely hilarious TED! We missed this one on it's first time around and I'm VERY pleased to be able to schedule it here! Don't let the goofy/raunchy trailer fool you, "underneath the mated fur of the movie's foul-mouthed bear beats a very real heart." Bob Mondello of NPR says, "I tried to resist but couldn't." Ted is easily the funniest movie of 2012 packed with consistent laughs and more heart than you might expect! Here's a quick description along with a trailer and our plan for the night:
Description: John makes a Christmas miracle happen by bringing his one and only friend to life, his teddy bear. The two grow up together and John must then choose to stay with his girlfriend or keep his friendship with his crude and extremely inappropriate teddy bear, Ted. Ted stars Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis and is directed by Seth MacFarlane (who also voices Ted).
Plan: Purchase your ticket for the7:40pm showing and meet Terry inside the main lobby between 7:10 and 7:20pm. Tickets are just $1.25! After the show, it's on to Lido's for food, drinks, and conversation! Any questions or trouble finding us, call Terry at 562-0299.
Look forward to seeing you there!
The organizer of this event, the Movie Miser (aka Terry), has uncovered the cheapest movie ticket in Columbus and organizes a monthly event to take advantage of this entertainment bargain! Plan to bring one George Washington and one quarter on the third Tuesday each month for an evening movie at the Carriage Place Cinema 12. The cinema does not announce movie schedules until the prior week, so the exact movie title and showtime will be announced the week before the show. We will primarily be picking movies that were hits or were featured as first run movies on a previous CMG event. This is your chance to see a hit movie on the big screen again or for the first time if you had scheduling conflicts with CMG’s original showing or something we missed the first time around. Either way, it's your chance to see a great movie before it leaves theaters entirely for the low, low price of just $1.25. That’s about how many coins the Movie Miser hoards under the seat cushions at his hovel.
The theater manager asked me to inform her of the group size which could influence which theater our movie is shown in, so I'll be watching the RSVP's closely. We are trying to establish some group package deals with the theater and group size influences what is offered.
Film title, showtime, and post-movie activities will be announced by Thursday, the week before the event.
