Our September calendar is already packed with great movie events with even more announcements one the way!  We'll get started this Tuesday with a film that has been earning fantastic reviews from critics and audiences alike: STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON! With a 90% positive rating from critics and a 96% from audiences, this biopic provides the backstory of N.W.A., the iconic rap group that launched the careers of Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and others! Next week, don’t miss joining us for A WALK IN THE WOODS at the Drexel Theatre! Robert Redford, Nick Nolte, and Emma Thompson star in this comedy-drama based on travel author Bill Bryson’s hilarious memoir! Should be a fun movie and a great night out! And later this month, it’s our Third Tuesday $1+ Movie and our just announced event to see Johnny Depp in a special Mafia Monday presentation of BLACK MASS! THIS TUESDAY: STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON at AMC Easton on Tuesday, September 1st!

• Join us this Tuesday for the biographical drama about legendary rap and hip-hop group N.W.A. and a film that has been earning outstanding reviews (90% positive on Rotten Tomatoes): STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON!
  PLAN: Purchase your ticket for the 7:15pm showing and meet in front of the Fossil store between 6:50 and 7:00pm! Tickets are just $8.99! After the show, we’ll plan for a quick stop and a scoop (or two) at nearby Jeni’s!
• DESCRIPTION: In 1987, five young men using brutally honest rhymes and hardcore beats put their frustration and anger about life in the most dangerous place in America into the most powerful weapon they had: their music. Going back to where it all began, Straight Outta Compton tells the true story of how these cultural rebels-armed only with their lyrics, swagger, bravado and raw talent-stood up to the authorities that meant to keep them down and formed the world's most dangerous group, N.W.A. The film feels like a little piece of history. It’s also great to see the group that launched the careers of Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Easy E and produced a sound that is still reverberating today. Straight Outta Compton is directed by F. Gary Gray (Friday, The Italian Job) and stars O’Shea Jackson Jr., Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, Neil Brown Jr., Aldis Hodge and Paul Giamatti. NEXT WEEK: A WALK IN THE WOODS at the Drexel Theatre on Thursday, September 10th!

• Join us for comedy adventure that was a big audience favorite at this year’s Sundance Film Festival: A WALK IN THE WOODS!
• DESCRIPTION: Rather than settling quietly into retirement, a travel writer instead decides to hike the Appalachian Trail - 2,200 miles of America's most unspoiled, spectacular and rugged countryside from Georgia to Maine. However, any peace and tranquility he hopes to find is lost when he agrees to be accompanied by the only person he can find willing to join him on the trek – a long-lost, down-on-his-luck serial philanderer who sees the trip as a way to sneak out of paying some debts and into one last adventure before it’s too late. THIRD TUESDAY $1+ MOVIE at Carriage Place on Tuesday, September 15th!

• Join us for a fun & frugal night out as we see a great big movie for a very little price!
• Movie titles change weekly and will be announced the week before the show! This month’s title, showtime and plan will be confirmed and announced by Thursday, September 10th! Prices are the cheapest in town – just $1.25!

MAFIA MONDAY: BLACK MASS at the Gateway Film Center on Monday, September 21st!

• Just Announced! This film will be screening at the Toronto Film Festival later in September and early buzz is good for Johnny Depp’s portrayal of notorious gangster James “Whitey” Bulger in BLACK MASS!
• DESCRIPTION: In 1970s South Boston, an FBI Agent persuades Irish mobster James "Whitey" Bulger to collaborate with the FBI and eliminate a common enemy: the Italian mob. Black Mass tells the story of this unholy alliance, which spiraled out of control, allowing Whitey to evade law enforcement, consolidate power, and become one of the most ruthless and powerful gangsters in Boston history. Black Mass is based on the novel by Dick Lehr and Gerard O’Neill and stars Johnny Depp, Kevin Bacon, Benedict Cumberbatch, Joel Edgerton, Sienna Miller and Dakota Johnson! Rated R for brutal violence, language throughout, some sexual references and brief drug use.
