Award Season is officially upon us! A lot of good films already this year – now it’s time for the Oscar heavyweights! Over the next couple months, we’ll do our best to predict the likely Oscar nominees and get you prepared for the 2016 Academy Awards (to be hosted by Chris Rock)! In addition to our Oscar Watch films, we’ll also continue to have plenty of great drama, comedy, action, along with our Horror/Thriller Series, our Third Tues $1+ Movie Series and more!

Over the next few weekends, our calendar will feature a trio of fantastic “Oscar Watch” films!

• Up first, join me this Sunday, 10/25 at Cinemark Gahanna for the cold-war thriller, BRIDGE OF SPIES! This film features a pair of masterful performances by Tom Hanks and Mark Rylance and is directed by Steven Spielberg!  Bridge of Spies is earning a 93% positive rating on RT and the film is being called riveting, smart, masterful, and one of the year’s best! Purchase your ticket for the 3:30 showing (just $5.15) and meet inside the theater lobby between 3:00and 3:15pm.
• Next Sunday, 11/1, don’t miss joining Derek & the group for an outstanding biopic, STEVE JOBS! Michael Fassbender is earning rave reviews for his portrayal of the iconic Apple co-founder and CEO in a film critics are calling “a smart, hugely entertaining film” and “a moving and magnificently crafted story!” The film is directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) with a screenplay by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network). Details will confirmed a little later this week.
• And just announced is our event to see the winner of the 2015 Toronto Film Festival, ROOM at the Drexel Theatre on Sunday, 11/15! Brie Larson and young star Jacob Tremblay are astonishing as a mother and son being held captive. Rotten Tomatoes has the film rated at an astounding 95% and says this tense, emotional film “makes for an unforgettably harrowing -- and undeniably rewarding – experience!” Complete details will be confirmed and announced in the coming weeks.

In the weeks in between our Oscar Watch films, don’t miss joining us for a couple of other fun events!

• Join us on Tuesday, Oct 27th at AMC Lennox see PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE GHOST DIMENSION, just in time for Halloween! This will be the sixth and final film in the franchise and details for this event have just been confirmed! Purchase your ticket for the 7:15pm 3D showing and meet Derek inside the theater lobby between 6:45 and 7:00pm.
• Also, there’s a lot of excitement in the air about the return of Daniel Craig as James Bond in the thrilling SPECTRE, all set for an opening night showing on Fri, Nov 6th at AMC Lennox! The 24th film in the long-running series will be directed by Sam Mendes and will star Daniel Craig and Christoph Waltz! Complete details will be announced in the coming weeks!
