I'm new to Ohio and haven't been to columbus yet. I'm excited about this group. I was involved in politics in AK.
Is there a specific place to park for this event?

There is on street parking all around the Statehouse. The Statehouse itself has a parking garage for a fee. The City Center parking garage is cheaper and a short walk.

Terrific Tea Party! I'll be attending more events like this. I was concerned that there might trouble makers, but it was very peaceful and very exciting.

The fact John Kasich is a participant gives "legitamacy" to the movement - not that it is lacking legitamacy in and of itself - but to the larger public his participation has the potential of reaching the larger audience. It would further the cause if a democrat of similar notority in Ohio participated. If we focus on central issues that Americans by and large support, we have the potential to move mountains, not just hills. The tax and spend issues are examples. Constitutional issues raised, ie. 10th amendment, is another. Line item veto, I believe, is an issue that most Americans, whether democrat, republican, or independent ("John Q citizens", not so much politicians) - this also is an issue that I believe the majority of Americans support. I also believe that public leadership should be calling Americans to boycott targeted corporations' products and services who are betraying the principles of a moral America. We must appeal to COMMON SENSE - a voice we all know when we hear it.

Great Tea Party! John Kasich and Steve Curtis, and the other speakers were great. With all the honking from the traffic, I knew they were tea partiers, too. Turn out was fantastic and all the signs were wonderful. There had to be close to 5000 attendies. Tons of Fair Taxers in the crowd! That was great! I circulated through the crowd and eavesdropped on pieces of conversation here and there and it was all the same: Stop government spending NOW and abolish the IRS NOW. For the most part, it was truly non-partisan, though there were few that expressed negativity toward the president. I stay away from that at these events, though I have opinions. That's not what this is about. It's about America. Only one problem: the PA system wasn't nearly loud enough. There was only two speakers; we could have used at least twice that if not three times that.

Don't ask for numbers up above if you do not have eniough space for me to answer! Very good crowd of approximately 1,200-1,500 people. VEry enthusiastic and both Republican and Democrat politicians need to take note. I recorded the event from the top of the Capital Steps and Kathy took some excellent photographs. We are busy processing the videos and photographs now. Hope to have our Video and Slide Show up on You-Tube later this evening. Kind of depends on my processing time. [masked]

I heard 3,000 to 3,500 attended the Tax Day Tea Party at the Statehouse. Even though I arrived late, and I wasn't allowed to have my adorable American Eskimo/border collie sidekick, Reagan, on the lawn with me (even though my tax dollars, as well as my parents, grandparents, ad adfinitum) tax dollars paid for that lawn and Statehouse, it was a great event with a lot of positive energy and creativity in expression. ARF! ARF! - This is Reagan. One of the fellow attendees said, "He's not a pet, he's a family member," and he was right. This was my first protest, and I had a "doggone" good time with my mommy and 3,000 to 3,500 of my new best friends!

I thought it was good, but left around 7:30 because I didn't want to hear politicians speaking about their campaigns. I'm too angry with business as usual to want to hear more of the same old self serving talk. I also thought too much time was given to one tax proposal, fair tax. There are other proposals and I think that a more general presentation of some alternatives to the current tax code would have been better.
