How to Fight Burnout and Stay Motivated as a Designer

Burnout doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t care about your level of experience, what role you play in the design ecosystem or what design title you hold. Burnout is simply another part of the challenges that we face as designers. If not dealt with correctly, burnout can have a drastic effect on your creativity and growth as a designer. This presentation is designed to help you understand what burnout is and how to fight it so that you can stay motivated as a designer.

Presenter

• Dennis Field is a Web Designer, Educator and Entrepreneur. He currently spends his day as a user experience designer for a successful San Francisco based start-up with over 50,000 businesses using their product. When he’s not helping them, he’s helping his own clients at Greenline Creative and nurturing an Online Songwriting Community he co-founded called Frettie. His passion is to help other designers and entrepreneurs reach their goals through sharing his own experiences with them on his blog and through consultations. He’s currently working on his first book “The Designer’s Handbook”, which is designed to focus on teaching designer’s less about the craft, but more about the industry and how to navigate through it.

Awesome presentation, Dennis! I definitely learned a lot and can't wait to apply your tips to help me fight burnout as a developer.

Taking a walk always helps to clear my head and think through a tough problem.

Where is the best place to park down there?

Cinema is also a good option and usually has a lot of spots... it's only a block walk too.

The Vine lot is probably the best option for lots or you could always snag a meter if there's one open.
