Hi all, it's time for another stroll down "good memories lane" . . . yes the third video in the four-part series has been released (at least I'm hoping I'll be able to condense the remaining into one). The first song is about 'coming together', appropriate for any meetup theme. The last song is my absolute favorite tune on my 'on the road playlist', gives me goosebumps while riding. That's Jeff Downs with Darren leading that wild ride with some missing guardrails . . . Be sure to turn up the volume when the bikes park at the overlook and you'll hear some conversation about the bear. Enjoy!

Upon reviewing the uploaded file, I'm not happy with the resolution so I'm trying to upload it with different settings. Once I get something better I will post a new link.

Great job! You're getting quite good at movie production! Love the music you added.

Okay, here's another one, called PA 2 (since it's the second one taken in PA, just to keep it simple).

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18aI73YLHjU&feature=youtu.be

I'm trying to keep the lengths under 10 minutes each.
That's it for this week I think. Stay tuned, more to come.
FYI I try to pick music that has a theme with the video, it's not completely random. You might want to listen to the words also.

A very interesting trip. Bikes malfunctioning, a couple of oopsies, and primitive motel accomodations. Thanks to Jeff Downs, Andy, RD, Ryan and Daniele for mapping, leading and tailing. Thanks to all for sticking it out when my bike decided it was too hot outside to run. Overall, it was a great trip! We had a good time with great people! Thanks everyone, let's do it again someplace else!

Fantastic trip! Had a lot of fun...Thank you Diane! Glad we all made it back... except for my little green bike who will come home next Saturday

    July 28, 2013

    • Daniele S.

Saturday night on our way back to the campground it completely died on me. Found a local mechanic who took a quick look at it Sunday morning but nothing he could fix and he's letting us store it there. I came home 2 up and we will go back next week with a trailer to pick it up.

      July 29, 2013

    • Daniele S.

Thank you again to everyone who waited on the side of the road with me. Steve for walking my bike half mile to a safe spot and giving me a ride back. Diane, M.J. and Tom for going to the local bar and amazingly finding a mechanic! And R.D. for for letting me ride 2 up on the way back!

      July 29, 2013

  • Bernie N.

A big "Thank You" to Diane for planning and executing the trip as well as everyone else that participated. This take time and hard work and is fully appreciated. We were lucky and back in Columbus before 4P.

As usual, the ride was a great experience of meeting old friends, and greeting new ones to make the"family" larger and stronger. The views, roads, events and breaks/dining experiences generated stories for future rides. I "feel" for those that experienced unexpected mechanical and riding difficulties. Hopefully, all will be minor and be minimally costly and time consuming to repair. I am eager to see each of you on another ride soon. "Till then, have a great summer and hope to see you soon.

Home in Cincy about 10pm. Had a wonderful time and got to meet more of your awesome group or maybe I should say 'family'. Love the camaraderie riding has inspired in this riding group. What a memorable 4 days!!!! Hats off to you Diane for putting it all together! Thanks to all who attended and made this trip a truly great adventure!
    The pics are great.
Thanks Amar and for leading our little group back home. Glad to see everyone has made it home safely.
Danie le, hope your little green machine is running better than ever soon! Same goes for Scarlett, by the way, Diane.

These just get better and better, this one was awesome despite some minor challanges I had. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Made memories I don't want to forget. Thank you Diane and Jeff for organizing as well as Andy and Ryan for your assistance. Thank you Daniele for the campfire smores, that was a wonderful group bonding 'come together' time, more or less, and I hope that could be repeated on a future ride with even more success. (Come Together by the Beatles is on my motorcycle MP3 playlist).

Got back home around 7:45pm. MJ is one her way to Cincy and Joe must be home by now. What a trip and what a ride. Thanks are in order to Diane for arranging this one. Jeff for planning rides in the area. This ride is sure to be remembered by all as one with twists and turns - such is life. I hope everyone is back safe.

Great Ride !!! with some '' challanges ''

    1 · July 28, 2013

  • Jeff

FYI, "Group 1" is back in town. I got back after 10pm with a "drenching shower on the road" and some construction delay on I-71 Southbound, north of Sunbury exit (a word of warning for tomorrow). To those that may wonder, I had full power / lights all the way home. For the benefit of those unaware, I discovered on Wednesday the probably reason I had intermittent lighting, but obviously could not get the proper part that day, so I was faced with the decision to either go with all of you the next day (with the risk of having to fool with the electronics if necessary) or not go at the last minute. I've been looking forward to this ride for a long time, and I was under the impression Thursday morning that my issues were solved only to find out when we arrived that was not exactly the case. Believe me, no one wants it to be resolved more than I. I apologize for the inconveniences it may have caused.

Wow...what a trip. Logged 1398 miles round trip. Thanks to Diana for heading this up months ago and thanks to Jeff D. and Darron for showing me around PA. Truly a beautiful area. We did have our share of bad luck along the way including lots of rain, 2 bikes breaking down and 2 minor accidents. Overall I enjoyed the ride. It was nice to ride with everyone again and look forward to doing it again.
I am sorry for leaving early but my sons 17th birthday was today and I promised my wife i would be home by 6:00. I hope Diane and Daniele were able to get their bikes back to Ohio.
Now time for everyone to get those pictures posted......

Wow did it rain... at one point you could not see anything.... but we made it home. Thank you so much Columbus Group!!!! You guys made me feel so good this weekend.... I can not explain how I feel inside after that trip but I can tell you that it was a amazing weekend.

Not at all surprising that you had a great time. You rode with a very nice group and Diane organizes the best rides. Wish I could have gone. :-)

  • Jeff

    continued from previous post . . .

It will be fixed shortly now that I am back in town and able to get the correct part. I hope Diane gets hers back safely without issues.

I hope your day ended dry and safe as well as your journey home. Thank you to all organizers, leads, and tails for a great weekend despite the rain today, you know who you are. Despite 'the mess', I had a great time with all of you and enjoyed meeting some for the first time. This is a special mix of people and I anticipate future meetups with you as a result. We will all have special memories of this adventure to relive until the next meetup, I'm sure. Stay safe and 'enjoy the ride' as they say.
