The group will be staying at the Two Wheel Inn, same motel as last year!

The Two Wheel Inn

Robbinsville, NC 28771

The Two Wheel Inn room rates: http://www.twowheelinn.com/index.php/our-rooms/

**As of Friday, July 19th, 2013 they have 1 ROOM available**.

The room is not blocked, first come first serve.  I strongly suggest reserving your room NOW if you want to go. When you reserve your room, tell them you are with the Columbus Meetup group and they will try to keep everyone together.

If you want to share a room, mention it in the comments section.

When you get your room booked, mention it in the comments, that you are booked so we can take a count on who is confirmed to go!

Ted (T-RUX) will be leading the ride down and mapping the route.

I am listed as going only because I set this ride up. Tom and I are not going this year.

North Riders (Columbus) Meeting at the Meijer Gas Station on Hilliard-Rome Road @ 6:45am - KSU sharp at 7:00AM with a gas stop on I75 at Cincy/Dayton Road Speedway.  Its a 2 1/2 hour trip with a stop.  Hopefully traffic out of Columbus on I70 will be light.
This will put us at the second meet point at 9:30-ish.

South Riders(Cincy) - the second meeting point at the
Pilot Travel Center
118 Richwood Road, I-75S/71S/ky 338 Exit 175

We are leaving here SHARP - KSU at 10:00am

First stop after we leave will be exit 62 for gas (118 miles, 2hrs.). Take a left off the exit and there is a Shell station on the right.

We will be off the interstate from here on out.

When we reach Sommerset, KY we can stop for a late lunch. This is a little over the halfway point.

We will take 27 to 62 in Tennessee and head towards Oak Ridge.

62 to 162 to I40 to 129 and on to the Dragon.  This should bypass the 5pm traffic by the airport to get out to the dragon. This is a great route that Bill made for us last year with good roads and plenty of stopping points if needed along the way.  I hope R D volunteers to ride tail so we can have an even safer trip.  Still one room open!

Hey - great news! My foots not broken! Just a severe sprain/twist. It didn't tear the Achilles' tendon - but close! It's black n blue and green all the way up to the toes though. If I hadn't been wearing decent boots - who knows what would've happened! Thanks to everyone for all your support and help. Ted, Jay, Mardie, RD, Hal, Mark & wife, Doug, & Chris - you all are aces in my book! Looking forward to getting back on the bike! After I put on the crash bar I ordered MONDAY (arrives today) LOL!!

Really glad to hear that Rob. I can understand the black and blue part, but doesn't that green stuff just wash off? LOL

Sometimes the best rides happen when you don" t know what road you are on!!!!! Check out Blind Kennys Photos of The Devil's Whip on sunday[masked] under the catogory Goldwings ( R.D. from ohio ) . I can't believe the lady listed my name on the site! This is going to cost me money!!!! RIDE SAFE!!!!

Great photos. The Devil triangle was one of the roads I wanted to ride last year when we were there. Hope it ride it next year.

Congrats on a good ride. Great action pics. #16 was my favorite, but your famous trailer is concealed. How did Blind Kenny ever get into photography anyway?

That was by far one of the most awesome road trips! Thanks to TRux for leading! Already planning on the return trip! One wing-ding of a good time!

S.R. 80 N.C. turns out to be " THE DEVILS WHIP" !!! Its 12 miles long and going north it climbs 2000 feet in 10 miles. Blind Kellys Photos trademarked the road and sells photos. Check out the site. I called and the lady will be loading 2500 photos for sunday. She knew who I was when I said the word trailer. On a down note they were riding it last week behind a rider that went down. They called it in and he was life flighted to TENN. He was from COLS> OHIO. RIDE SAFE !!!!

SORRY !!!! I looked at the mileage wrong. ONLY ran a little over 700 miles on sunday. It just feels like 1100 because of the roads I was on.

WELL !!!! I made it home 12:30 pm sunday. 17 hours and 1100 miles after leaving the two wheel inn. Had no problems and no rain. Had a detour on the BRP and found another dragon. Man what a road. RT 80 N.C. Still can"t find a DRAGON shirt that says I rode it at night,in the rain, with a trailer.

RD decided to do the rest of the skyway and come home through WVA. I wish him great travels, dry roads, and no issues on his extra leg. He was a big help to all of us and a great guy to ride with. Missed his stories in my ear on the way home.

I made it in at 6:30pm to Delaware. Long trip but good idea to slab it back. Special thanks to Rob and Penny for the extra care they gave to everyone, and a speedy recovery to Rob. A fast recoup as well to Marc with that stone.... I'd like to Thank Hal and RD as well for stepping up and helping out. Decisions are best made with more than one head! I could not have asked for a better birthday celebration! (maybe drier...) A real Wing Ding of a trip! Looking forward to next year!

Criss - Like Ralph said, another group is joining us on this trip so it would be nice to get everyone together to make some plans. The other group is a group I started when I first came to Ohio. I LOVE to ride, so I chose going there because of the distance, so I would get a nice ride out of it. Going 30 minutes away is not a ride to me. Also, as I listed on the other post, I have set up a RIDE-ON route for the return trip to get passports stamped, so people could enter the RIDE-ON contest and maybe win a new motorcycle! Why not have a nice ride out, a good planning meeting, and a fun ride back with many stops for dice rolls along the way back, making a day out of it?

Search RIDE-ON magazine for more information on their summer poker run and where to get your passport to enter!

Doing a pre-ride planning meeting in Cincy on 7/20. We can meet at the Meijer listed above KSU @ 7am! and ride down together for the meeting and breakfast at the Red squirrel in Fairfield. Nice place to eat and meet! This will give us a chance to ride together down and back and meet some new people. Bring your ideas and suggestions along as the agenda is wide open for ideas. I have a nice route but we do have two days to plan out so lets get to it! Hope to see you all there!

Rob & I won't be able to make the planning mtg... please fill us in. We still plan on driving down & trailering the bike... it's a 2 bike trailer & will have room if needed & we can haul extra gear in the truck bed as well.

That sounds like a plan Penny. I will email you the packets and let you know how the discussion goes.

Penny and I are going - we thought about trailering the bike and hauling other's gear - plus this way if someone breaks down we can put their bike on the trailer (it will haul 2). Thoughts?

Lets meet up at the Flying J on I70/RTE42 intersection. I'd prefer to take[masked] south instead of 71 as its nicer roads, less traffic. KSU @ 7am to put us at the Florence rest stop at 9:30am to meet others going from the south.
