Was that someone from out group that crashed?

    October 6, 2013

    • Brian B

Ken, they were not from our group, The crash happened about a mile ahead of our group. We were among the first on the scene to help the downed riders.

      October 6, 2013

    • Mary B.

No....no one we knew but they had fueled up and left the station just before us and we came upon them after they wrecked

Had a great time with everyone and it was good to see old faces and new ones,I made it home safely! Brian thanks for everything you did for the couple who was injured, keeping the female calm and remaining in control of the situation until the medics got there. I thought the speed and route was perfect. I like that we did not take long to stop and get moving and that we did not take a lot of breaks. Except for the accident we came a crossed the ride was perfect! Prayers will be going up for the couple in the accident.

It was a good ride, even if we did slab it on US-33 all the way down. The North Carolina Style Pork sammich wasn't bad. It should have been on a Kaiser Roll so that more fixin's stayed off the tray, but I had a trusty fork and didn't let nary a morsel sneak away. How about that Red Velvet Brownie? Huh? HUH? Yum! Had fun. Made friends. And didn't get a bit wet.

On the way back to familiar territory, Ron and I bailed out, off of OH-56, and once north of Laurelville, took Tarlton Adelphi Rd (Co. Rd 64) toward Lancaster, ended up at Buckeye Lake once we found that US-37 wasn't were I wanted it to be. Hope Ron made it back to NE Columbus without needing an umbrella. Thanks all, for a pleasant day worth taking off of work for. I'm looking forward to the next time I get to ride with you.

Thank you everyone for doing this today. By far this has been the most exciting thing I have done in a long time. I am happy my bike didn't let me down.

This was our 2nd meetup - first was the Movie Group. This was sooo much fun. Nice people, nice bikes, great food (i was a bit apprehensive when i saw it was a mall) best ribs in a long time. And although we saw an accident, it was nice to see the heart and soul of this group. We are definitely in for the rides.

Thanks Brian for putting this together. It was nice to meet so many new members. Food was great and so was the company. Hope eveyone beat the rain back home.

Only my second ride with this group and what a fabulous day....perfect weather and food and friends.....already looking forward to next one.......prayers going out for the two riders....and Nate and Linda....thx for letting me tag along....

    2 · October 5, 2013

  • Jack H.

All of you who "wussed/excused out" because you did not want to get wet.... well guess what.....not a drop of rain all day!
To those 19 bike riders and their passengers, it was good to see new riders + ones that I have met on rides before. It was a fun day, a fun ride with fun people!
I had 190 miles on my clock today from home to there & back again.
Brian, thanks for setting up this ride/route today.....it was a good one. The food at Kiser's was great. Even the Owner, Mrs. Kiser was a super person and told me she really appreciated our group being there. Now that's what I call Southern Hospitality, Athens style.
No color in the leaves at all...still green & yeller, but nonetheless, it did not mater, it was being with a great bunch of folks today out enjoying THE RIDE.

  • Ben

Just got home, and checking in safely. I wanted to say Thanks for the fun...it was a beautiful day to ride! I will also admit...I will most likely forget everybody's name I met today...Nothing personal, just have a slightly defective memory :)

After the group broke up, shortly after I took the 70exit, it started to sprinkle, and rained on me a little bit. I had probably 40 minutes in sprinkles/light rain..but no worries. I didn't have to break out the rain gear, my suit holds up to light rains well enough...and rain doesn't bother me so all in all, it was a great day to ride!

    4 · October 5, 2013

  • Brian B

First and foremost please pray for the injured riders that we came across on St Rt 56. They somehow flipped their bike. The driver was banged up but seemed ok...his wife was in pretty bad shape. She was airlifted from the scene. We found out later that the driver has just retired from the Ohio Highway Patrol and sadly their son was the first Trooper on the scene. Please keep them in your prayers!

    5 · October 5, 2013

  • Brian B

    As for the ride...
AWESOME! No rain, great food, fun, and fellowship. St Rt 33 was a good ride but nothing extraordinary. St Rt 56 was incredible! The colors were just starting to show, the smell of Autumn, and the peace of riding a quiet country road. Thanks to all who joined us today.

If you are in the Athens area please consider stopping and eating at Kiser's Barbeque...incredible food and very accommodating. They are located at 1002 E State St in Athens, OH. (http://express.kisersbarbeque.com).

So sad to hear about the accident. We will be in prayer about that. But so glad to hear you all had a safe ride! God bless!

    October 5, 2013

  • Andy

For those of you that did not attend the ride you missed out on some great food and great company. Made it home completely dry. Hope the other riders did also. We did come across a motorcycle accident and pray rider and co-rider will be ok.
Thanks Brian for leading the group and setting up the ride.

    Good morning all,
It is raining in Westerville as I am typing. Any thoughts from those checking in before the ride today. Radar shows rain and storms at the Ohio/Indianna line right along I-70 but they are moving NE away from the ride area. Speak now before it is too late.

    • Tami

      I'm out. Sorry Brian.

      October 5, 2013

Jack...If you lead a group I will pull up the rear.

      1 · October 4, 2013

I say we top off tanks @ the gas station then find a place way out from the Grocery Store to fit all 34 riders. It shouldn't be to hard to find a group of riders this big. Yer 2c Tim?

    What's ever 1 think?

Jae, thanks for the info. There ya have it folks!

      October 2, 2013

    • Brian B

It is a pretty big parking lot. There is one traffic light out of the lot that we would need to use. We can regroup on the ramp from Gender Rd to St Rt 33 South. The berm on the entrance ramp is pretty wide. I'll have more info about the ride when we meet up on Saturday.

    October 1, 2013

I wish I could make this ride but will be attending a wedding. Have a safe and enjoyable ride.

    October 1, 2013

  • Brian B

I am watching the weather closely hoping the forecast changes. A decision to ride or reschedule will be made by Wednesday night after the weather forecast. If we reschedule I am looking at the following Saturday Oct 12th. Safety of the riders is always the priority.

Besides, the fall colors will not be nearly as nice in the rain.

    1 · September 30, 2013

    • Sandeep

Isn't it gonna get worse if we reschedule it??

      September 30, 2013

      September 30, 2013

    September 30, 2013

  • Mary K. W.

Yeah...I was sooo wishing we were riding this past Saturday! Lol

    September 30, 2013

  • Tim W.

Please be specific on your meeting location. Is it in front of the store or the gas pumps? The pumps are about 600 ft from the store. Plenty of room for parking around the pumps. No restroom, but a McD's is next door if anyone wants to arrive a little early and get a coffee or Big Breakfast. Thanks and looking forward to seeing you all this Saturday.

    September 30, 2013

  • Andy

Not sure at this time if I will be able to attend this ride. If I can attend, I am willing to lead or tail a group.

    2 · September 10, 2013

I spoke to the manager at Kiser's BBQ and I am trying to secure a 10% discount for everyone on the ride. Pray for great weather.

    1 · September 25, 2013

  • Andrew S.

Muneer, welcome and thanks for being brave enough to ask an honest question! Brian's response is "right on target". If this is your very first motorcycle and you have little experience riding it then this type of ride in this part of Ohio may be above your skill set and comfort level. If this is the case then you won't be having much fun and the safety factor for you and the other CMR riders are a big concern.

If, however, you are experienced as Brian describes below then your 250 CC machine should be fine. You're welcome to contact me directly to discuss if you wish!

    1 · September 15, 2013

    • Muneer A.

Thanks a lot Andy. I will send you an email. Hope to meet you soon.

      September 23, 2013

My hubby Nathan Cole is the rider I am just the passenger :)

    September 21, 2013

    • Brian B

Welcome to the ride Abby. My wife and I have the same riding setup. Glad to have you along.

      September 22, 2013

  • Sam, I a.

Think I'll do Greg's Amish tour instead. :-)

    September 21, 2013

  • Matt R.

I have a ninja 250 I ride all over, I wouldn't hesitate to take it on this ride. The only thing I've noticed is I get more fatigued on the smaller bike, not as comfortable as my big bike.
