My friend Ryan Lowery started the Columbus Motorcycle Riders MeetUp group 3 years ago and he has asked me today if I would like to become the next official "Organizer" of our growing group of fellow enthusiasts (ie: pay the site fees, etc). Due to family obligations (a small camper to spend time with his wife and 2 children) Ryan was "ride-less" for about a year and just recently was able get another scooter to ride (yea!). So he's "back in the saddle" with us (his first ride back with us was Saturday's VMD ride) but his ongoing time commitments personally and professionally make it difficult for him to continue in leadership. The success and growth of our CMR MeetUp group has been due to his efforts and which will not be overlooked or forgotten! And... we will still seek his guidance as we continue forward.
My wife just this month had two breast cancer surgeries and while the outlook is very encouraging I wanted to ask her advice before taking on this role... I've not been able to make many of the rides as I have been supporting her with numerous health related visits, exams, etc and before and after care for her. I know you'd understand why I asked her... and with her counsel (and prayer) I decided to accept.
So now I am the "Grand Poo Bah"... at least billing wise! But another huge cog in our wheel is Diane Kraus, along with the supprt of her hubby Tom! Remember the quote: "When in doubt ask the woman in charge!" While there is only one official organizer for me and many of us that know her DIANE is also an "Organizer"! She is such a great lady and a treasure!
We also have our other support co-leaders as well to help our group and for them I am very appreciative and gratefull.
So that's it for now... if you have questions let me know. Ride safe and see you soon!
