Banana Leaf Indian restaurant is offering a vegan cooking class this coming Sunday. If you haven not been, it's a great experience. You will learn how to prepare several Indian dishes quickly and easily. I attended one of these recently and we learned to prepare three different dishes in less than 40 minutes. You will also learn about Indian seasonings and cultural traditions.
Attendees get to sample the items made in the class and then, as part of your $40 class fee, you are invited to enjoy the regular sunday buffet. It is a great way to spend a sunday afternoon in the big city.
You can RSVP on the site, so we can see who's going and say hello when we are there, but you have to call the owner, Kamal Panchal,[masked] or [masked] to secure your place in the class. The room can hold about 40 and this event usually sells out, so call right away. Don't eat lunch before. Save room. You'll need it. Kamal's easy charm and easy banter makes learning Indian cooking a pleasure!
Afterward, there are two Indian grocery stores within a short drive where you can go and pick up spices, veggies, and all other things Indian which can help you add Indian dishes to your table right away.
