I just found a large selection of USDA certified organic Indian groceries at Generation Green. Just what you'll need to cook Kamal's recipes. Check out my post here - http://www.meetup.com/ColumbusVeganMeetup/messages/boards/thread/31539102.

Thanks for a WONDERFUL Meetup Everyone! Kamal really outdid himself, even MORE than we had planned.
He has the gift of comedic gab, an amazing HOST, and Ami is an excellent chef!

Here is some info that was relayed during the Q & A., also books Kamal recommends.
-University of Colorado online has extensive information about Indian lentils.
-Health Book; Brian J. Osborne, Ayurveda Food Balancing Act
-Recipe Book; Tarla Dalal, famous Indian chef has variety of cookbooks available.
-Never mix Garlic or Cumin with Black Mustard Seeds
-easy home appetizer; puffed rice mixed with chopped cooked potatoes, cooked black chickpeas, raw sliced onions, fresh cilantro, and a spice mix called, Chaat Masala
-Okra; dry completely before cooking, do not cover when cooking or will be too wet and sticky.
-Dosas can be easily prepared with a mix found at Indian Grocers, spread thin on a well oiled, flat griddle, flip when browned. Please leave a comment about this meetup, THANKS!
