After what feels like the longest, coldest winter in recorded history, what could be better than a big, delicious feast with friends! Join us as we try out the hottest restaurant in Columbus – Melt! This Cleveland-based restaurant specializes in deliciously huge gourmet sandwiches! Melt is very veggie friendly with an endless variety of vegetarian and vegan options, including veggie burgers, crispy tofu, house made seitan, tofu bacon, and depending on the day, veggie meatballs and/or veggie meatloaf! In addition to a variety of cheeses, Melt also offers vegan cheddar and vegan mozzarella and over 50 fresh veg ingredients! To avoid (or beat) the crowds, we’ll be getting together early for this event. Skip breakfast and meet outside the doors between 10:45 and 10:55am on Saturday, March 15th. Please note: you must be there by 10:55am to be seated with the group! We’ll all head in together when the doors open at 11:00am. Pre-payment of $11 per adult is required to RSVP for this event; $10 of your payment will be applied to the cost of your meal (the other $1 is an unavoidable Amazon payments fee). Just Announced: Banana Leaf Grand Buffet on Sunday, April 13th!
For our April Vegetarian Group event, we'll get together for a special buffet at Vegetarian Group favorite - BANANA LEAF! Kamal, the owner, is putting together a very special buffet for the group, including a variety of appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks! Whether you are new to Indian cuisine or already a fan, this will be a great opportunity to try out a variety of great dishes for one low price! Arrive between 12:45 and 12:55pm; buffet starts at 1:00pm. Buffet will be all vegetarian, all vegan and all gluten-free; price is $13.99 for adults, $8.99 for kids over 5 and free for children age 5 and under. As an added bonus for this event, Kamal is also offering a FREE cooking demonstration immediately before the event for those who are interested! If you’d like to attend the cooking class, just indicate when you RSVP and arrive 30 minutes earlier (between 12:15 and 12:25). Whole Foods Supper Club on Thursday, March 13th
The Whole Foods in Upper Arlington will be holding its first Supper Club on Thursday, March 13th from 6:30 to 8:00pm! The Supper Club is “an elegant 4-course dinner” prepared by their own chefs. The theme of the dinner is inspired by the Engine 2 Diet, a completely plant-strong lifestyle that is also free from added refined oils. Space is limited for this event, and the cost is $20 per person. Registration and payment are due no later than March 7th. Sunrise Sanctuary Spring Clean-up Day on Saturday, April 5th
Volunteers are needed for the 2014 Sunrise Spring Clean Day starting at Noon on Saturday, April 5th! Wear your oldest clothes and shoes/boots/rubber boots and come prepared to help clean out all the old straw in all the barns, lay down fresh straw, repairs, projects and more. With a large group of people, it is amazing how much can be done in a few hours. So, gather your friends, family and co-workers to sign up. As always, the animals will try to lend you a hand and you may get a sloppy kiss along the way. If you have a pitchfork and/or shovel, please bring them with you. Bottled water and snacks will be provided along with their sincere appreciation! There is always time to spend with the animals, too! Yoga Outreach for Charity at Ohio Wesleyan University on Sunday, April 6th
Sunday, April 6, join our own Loretta Zedella at Yoga Outreach Columbus for a charity yoga gathering on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University. This event unites the Central Ohio yoga community and locally benefits the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and People in Need of Delaware County plus international charity Off the Mat, Into the World. Stratford Cooking Club for Kids on Saturday, April 12th
Chef Mark will be conducting the Stratford Cooking Club for Kids at the Stratford Ecological Center on Saturday, April 12th. Bring your child age 6 to 12 for a visit to the farm to learn how food is grown, plus a cooking lesson designed for young chefs. They’ll make a connection between how food gets from field to plate, and your child will prepare and enjoy a healthy snack made with seasonal ingredients from the farm.
