Thanks to everyone who made it out to Melt on Saturday! A fun restaurant and a great group of folks made for a terrific way to start the day! The food was abundant, as expected, but surprisingly delicious as well! Pictures have been posted on the Vegetarian Group page! Next up is our April get-together at Banana Leaf on Sunday, April 13th! This event will feature a buffet of appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks for one low price! Whether you are new to Indian cuisine or already a fan, it should be a great opportunity to try out a variety of delicious Indian favorites! Arrive between 12:45 and 12:55pm and the event will start promptly at 1:00pm. Buffet will be all vegetarian, all vegan and all gluten-free; price is $13.99 for adults, $8.99 for kids over 5 and free for children age 5 and under. As an added bonus for this event, there will be a FREE cooking demonstration immediately before the event for those who are interested! If you’d like to attend the cooking demo, just indicate when you RSVP and arrive 30 minutes earlier (between 12:15 and 12:25). Join Chef Mark, The Duke of Of Fork, on Saturday, March 22 for Farm to Fork: Cooking with Seasonal Ingredients at the Stratford Ecological Center, 3083 Liberty Rd. in Delaware. For this class, Chef Mark will show creative and healthful ways to prepare vegetable, grains, and other foods grown right on the farm. This class features ingredients currently in season and promises to be a delicious culinary adventure complete with samples for you to enjoy. Class time 1:00PM to 3:00PM. Sunrise Sanctuary Spring Clean-up Day on Saturday, April 5th
Volunteers are needed for the 2014 Sunrise Spring Clean Day starting at Noon on Saturday, April 5th! Wear your oldest clothes and shoes/boots/rubber boots and come prepared to help clean out all the old straw in all the barns, lay down fresh straw, repairs, projects and more. With a large group of people, it is amazing how much can be done in a few hours. So, gather your friends, family and co-workers to sign up. As always, the animals will try to lend you a hand and you may get a sloppy kiss along the way. If you have a pitchfork and/or shovel, please bring them with you. Bottled water and snacks will be provided along with their sincere appreciation! There is always time to spend with the animals, too! Yoga Outreach for Charity at Ohio Wesleyan University on Sunday, April 6th
Sunday, April 6, join our own Loretta Zedella at Yoga Outreach Columbus for a charity yoga gathering on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University. This event unites the Central Ohio yoga community and locally benefits the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and People in Need of Delaware County plus international charity Off the Mat, Into the World. S ix respected yoga teachers from the Columbus area will lead a yoga class, preceded and followed by socializing and community. Tickets are now on sale at sponsoring yoga studios. Stratford Cooking Club for Kids on Saturday, April 12th
Chef Mark will be conducting the Stratford Cooking Club for Kids at the Stratford Ecological Center on Saturday, April 12th. Bring your child age 6 to 12 for a visit to the farm to learn how food is grown, plus a cooking lesson designed for young chefs. They’ll make a connection between how food gets from field to plate, and your child will prepare and enjoy a healthy snack made with seasonal ingredients from the farm. Sunrise Sanctuary Presents Nathan Runkle at Studio 35 on Sunday, April 20th!
Nathan Runkle, founder and executive director of Mercy For Animals (MFA), will be speaking at Studio 35 in Columbus, Ohio to benefit Sunrise Sanctuary. Cost is $25 per person and 100% of all proceeds will benefit the animals at Sunrise Sanctuary! Doors open at 1:30. Nathan will speak at 2:00pm.
