APRIL VEGETARIAN GROUP EVENT: TILL DYNAMIC FARE ON SATURDAY, APRIL 6TH
Our April event, "Veggie Bites at Till Dynamic Fare" will be held from 2-4pm on Saturday, April 6th! I think we’re in for a real treat and a fun afternoon! Till has arranged an afternoon social with small plate specials along with their regular vegetarian/vegan menu and a great big space for our group! This event filled up quickly –thanks for the great response! If you are signed up to attend, I look forward to seeing you there! A PLACE AT THE TABLE
As part of Columbus Documentary Week, the Gateway Film Center will be presenting the film A PLACE AT THE TABLE! This documentary shows the serious economic, social and cultural implications that hunger poses for our nation and how it could be solved. A Place at the Table is from the people who brought us Food, Inc. and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. The film is rated PG and will run from March 15-21 at the Gateway Film Center. Bring a canned good to any screening between March 15-21 and you’ll receive a free 32oz popcorn and 16oz soda! DINNER AT THE FORUM
Join Dr. Pam Popper for a delicious meal and participate in an interactive discussion. The next dinners will be held on Monday, March 18 and Thursday, April 18 at 6:00pm. Dinners are free and open to everyone but reservations are required. Reservations can be made by calling 614-841-7700.
CHEF DEL COOKING CLASSES
Chef Del has a couple cooking classes coming up! At “Spring Holidays” (Tues, Mar 19, 7-9pm), Chef Del will demonstrate and serve a four course meal direct from Spring’s first harvest! Next month (Tues, Apr 23, 7-9pm), Chef Del will lead Spring Fling, which will focus on Easter and Passover holiday food. Events are $20 for Wellness Forum members and $25 for non-members. Both events will be held at the Wellness Forum and reservations can be made by calling 614-841-7700.
This year’s conference is set for July 3-7 at the Conference Center at Pitt-Johnstown at the University of Pittsburgh in Johnstown PA. The conference features experts in health, nutrition, animal welfare, environmental issues, exercise, fitness, and cooking. Guest speakers include leading authors Colleen Patrick-Gourdreau (The 30-Day Vegan Challenge), Melanie Joy (Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows), John McDougall, along with leading nutritionists, dietitians and chefs!
